Room For All

Welcome to Wondercafe2!

A community where we discuss, share, and have some fun together. Join today and become a part of it!

Good morning! Another frosty start to the day in this area. Church services, reading and knitting, waiting for a biopsy, and the things that will rise up today; we are here for it. In conversation and support, in caring and sharing, in community and oneness, we gather, for each other and for the tea, coffee, and the eclairs that the Baker has made for us. The coffee is freshbrewed, the yea water is boiling, and the eclairs are fresh and warm. All is ready, everyone is welcome. Come join the fun!

Busy day today. One of those where you map out your trips and timings to try to do it efficiently.

Thankfully no medical appointments today.

Taking my car in for snows ( a bit early but check engine light came on so was killing two birds with one stone. As it turns out, think it was just gas cap). On the way, stopping to get measurements of a tv stand at the location we have our Toastmasters meeting
Once i get the loaner car, head to Costco to source a low cost large tv to act as monitor for zoom call.
Then head to Toastmasters to set up new technology and do meeting. I'm table topics master today, so ...have to remember to print my questions. We have a new owl 3 camera/mic/speaker and have addressed lack of control of our zoom meeting

Then some groceries and finally home and more leaf raking. Getting a bunch of leaves together for next springs mulching. Got great horse manure Saturday

Yeah, I'll be doing my Civic soon since it's bugging for an "A" service (oil change and, ironically, tire rotation). My other car is in the shop this week so it will have to wait for next week. Rust issue on the driver door.

We haven't raked yet. Most of our trees haven't dropped nor have the neighbouring ones. Probably in the next week or two from what I am seeing. We did tear down the patio set and do some other cleanup tasks outdoors. Also hung a new blind and did some other maintenance work inside along with the biweekly top to bottom cleaning.

Weather here is getting distinctly chilly. Temp was only 1C when I went out this morning. Last week it was running around 4-6 when I left. Heavy frosts here the last two nights and that will probably continue tonight from the forecast. So, yeah, it really is Fall.

We took the dog to the vet this morning. Our golden who is not in any way a fussy eater, hasn't been eating this weekend. It looks like a gastric thing of some sort. Special food and some meds. She ate the food so that's good. It's always a worry when our furkids aren't feeling well.

I may have a biopsy in Vancouver scheduled for November 4. Things are being set up now. We'll check out the passenger ferry that goes from downtown to downtown. Very handy, and close to the hospital. I've tentatively booked a spot at the cancer lodge while we're there.

It's a sunny day that may involve a campfire.

Life remains a strange alien condition ... never lasting regardless of prior preaching's ... something more to get over but difficult as one gets attached!

Second open house at my folks' place yesterday. No offers yet. Frustrating. This should have been on the market three or four years ago. Now, crickets.

Ah well.

In other news, got sent pics of a guy's canopy over his deck that he built without a permit before covid. The pics are not the most illuminating, but it looks ready to fall down. He thinks I can just add a couple boards. Tomorrow is gonna be a fun conversation.

What would you say is the confidence level of the prior builder? Confidence says it all ... well according to some leaders!

Myself ... in an insane world how does confidence stand out, a bit we-avey and wobblily? Thus avarice ...

The two houses East of me went on the market this year. One sold in a couple weeks. One took an couple months. And there's a block on the next street over that had five listings within spitting distance of each other this summer. Two are still on the market (curiously, with the same agent, which gives me an indication of which agent not to use when I finally sell my place).

My folks are likely asking too much. The house is very well built, but people don't care about that as much as number of bathrooms and the kitchen.

Well, the tv will be returned. Went with one that will fit on av stand. Consensus is - go bigger, well put on table. Glad i went with that size first as it clearly showed why bigger would be better.

Really like working with this team. Many great ideas and can-do

@Northwind , the BC ferry system is so interesting. Glad you have that option.

Good Tuesday morning! Busy schedules for some today, winterizing the vehicles, dog to the vets, open house and real estate situations, return of TV, and all the other things that pop up are with us as we meet around the Coffee Cart for conversation, connection, and support. Over coffee and tea, and the cinnamon buns the Baker has provided, we talk and clarify, plan and scheme, and enjoy the company. The tea water is boiling, the coffee freshbrewed, and buns are warm and fresh. All is ready, everyone is welcome. Come in and join the conversations!

Most don't want a project.
Does not bode well for us but hopefully we can get some of the bigger fixups the place needs before we get there. The deck needs to be either rebuilt or maybe replaced with a concrete patio. Carpets on the ground floor look like hell so that needs doing. We'll probably have to do a coat of paint, too. Been a while since we last did that (I think it was just after Little M moved out). Might hire someone this time.

Troublesome day yesterday as I visited my kid, half-brother that had an NDE when his BP dropped to 45 over 40 and pulse remained elusive. While visiting a neighbor arrived who is waiting on a second lobotomy on Halloween night, possibly a third when the results are observed ... because the autonomous nervous system is all awry!
There are people that disbelieve such activity in the human essence ... spooky rites!
