Taking care of this nice elderly lady for a friend -- she and I are practically strangers so I tried reclining on the couch and slowly she migrated to lying down on my chest so I daren't move

When I did man did she grumble...

Good morning! One of winter's last gasps, family drop in visits, pictures and cats, plus whatever comes up today, we bring to the Coffee Cart with us for conversation and support. We gather over coffee (fresh brewed, of course) and tea (made by the cup) and scones. Come by when you have time, have a mug or cup, and a scone, and share in the conversations! All are welcome, all is ready. Come and get it!

Caffeine is a stimulae ... rather like a steroid that can raise the essences in the limbic system ... even though the spine has no nerve endings according to a source ... singular?

Imagine if someone manipulates your endocrine system with alien essences like paranoia! Would the ground level of the thing declare it is beneath such diabolical deviation? This the d' Deux in archaic Latin ... and something else in other dead languages.

We miss these in full construction of communications ... thus the unconscious function! This may be illustrated as one part of the vast area of deficiency in outright comprehension! Some say this is soul ... part of what is done, gone ...

There are great powers that declare: "give them nothing" as they cannot abide with sociability!

Steroids require fine balances also ... that's TU! They are difficult to observe other than in how you perceive characters ... thus images form!

I primal form one must open the eyes ... especially an Aye of mind as the hollow is dug out ... physical types do not believe it ... that deficiency of physicality!

Excessive abstract? Dark as some of those forms in paintings and other art forms ... Arty?

Living in a bit of choas here in the County. Personally my power was off for 5 days but I was only home for the the last 3. No power means no furnace ( i do not have fireplace or wood burning stove) and no water. I had picked up 3 very large water containers on way home. I rented the last generator available in town and bought a small heater. Generator only had 1 plug and yes heater was too small for my house but largest said generator could run. Generator ran out of gas. I refilled it but thought it prudent to refill gas gan, and my car's gas tank and a spare container of gas. Came home . My freezer alaram went as I was unloading car. (It signals freezer temp dropping to critical level). Turned it off. Was pull starting generator when Hurrah, power came back on. This means content of chest freezer is fine to use.
Internet the next morning. Cell service by end of day. Life can return to normal. Did some work. Returned generator.
Woke to no furnace and cold house Sunday morning. A look in the basement showed 18 inches of water. Still dealing with aftermath of that. Water is gone, furnace and hot water tank will need replaced. Small heater keeps living room 11-14.
I'm tired of being resourceful and resilient.

Ugh. I wish you lived closer. I've got extra drywall and other materials I could bring and replace or repair any bad materials that have to go.

Generators are hard to come by all over by now, I'm sure. Glad you had some ability to maintain foot safety.

My basement is cinder blocks and cement floor so no drywall needed but thanks. (you do know I am back in Ont. I assume). Basement had unused old well, covered with a piece of wood. Water table rose. I had rubbermaid type boxes with quilting fabric. They floated and /or tipped over. That, beside furnace and hot water tank are only damage. Grateful for insurance. I did attempt to get well filled in this summer. The one company that I could find was going to dump cement in it. My online reading suggested more was needed so work didn't happen.
My tall neoprened tidal pool paddling boties were just above the water if if walked slow, so in I waded.
Kudos to my minister who came over with his sump pump (and sandwiches from yesterdays funeral) and got my sump pump gong and added his. He did not have high boots. The restoration company arrived at 130, added a big pump and worked until 5 hauling stuff out and disinfecting.

Went through that with the old place I owned in Hamilton. Fortunately, it was only a part basement under the newer part of the house and was just used as a furnace and utility room. I went down maybe a couple times a year tops to change furnace filters or the odd time a fuse blew. It was a blocked trap in the household drain backing up in my case.

Forgot you were back in Ontario. I have a big bottle of Concrobium you can use, but it sounds like you're on that.

I still owe you for that blanket for Zach. If you have anything construction-related, message me. I've never decommissioned a well before. If it's a case of dumping concrete (let me research this), that's totally up my alley.

Oh @Tabitha , i knew that you had been out of power, but, did not realize that you then had to deal with a flood.
That's a lot to deal with, plus normal life.

Ouch @Tabitha. This aftermath crap makes it harder. I am on the dry side of my street; many across the street had to manually bail or deal with damage. Not too much fabric harmed I hope? If chansen offers to help you grab him. The man finishes a job he starts. After he split up and moved my broken heavy limbs, he fecking raked the downed twigs from the front yard...he is a helping person who models this to his kids; deep respect.

I have just had my first haircut in a decade and hair is nice and even and dead ends gone. Quite a bit shorter because I had a broken area, but still below shoulder length with a longer back. Curls are nicer with less weight. Daughter fixed my two broken nails, but in her own bad week, the colour is different...

And then my leaky tire turned into a broken tire which required help from the big guy (to get summer tire from garage which will do for today) a call to CAA to come and replace it. Thx to CAA app which lets you track where your repair guy is and ETA, we at least got some errands done in the waiting time.

He fecking raked your yard? Can you believe the gall of that guy?

Look, it was either rake the twigs or admit that I brought a rake for no reason. I'm not in the habit of driving around with a rake in my truck. I've chauffeured a few hoes in my day, though.

Good morning! It snowed a bit overnight here again, hopefully it will be meltwater by tonight. We remember those dealing with the aftermath of ice storms, for water heaters and furnaces, branches in the yard, tire woes, and all the rest; these, along with the new things that arise today, come with us to the Coffee Cart. We will discuss, support, and connect again over coffee, tea, and bagels. The coffee is fresh brewed, and tea water boiling; bagels are toatsed to perfection and ready for whatever toppings you would like. All is ready, all are welcome! Come join in the conversations!

Imagine remembering all that without being concerned, worried and much bothered by the bad news ... thus powers avoid it or place it in dis void ... the space we're in? Alas ... its onus ... the presence as it it is time ... albeit intangible ... without facets of abstract connections ...

In ALL regards of the Dais ... is everything disturbed, distraught and chaotic to sufficient degree for a plurality to ask: "who's crazy here?"

Hau should have left earlier? Before the plowing over ... chi come through here as a wild wind ... and did the dirt ever fly! However, in the end did it change much?

What's an "au" when you take the silent "H" portion away? Thus the au frere ... or oh brother look what you've done ... the story of the opposing sibling ...

Now brothers and sisters what shall we struggle against today ... some will against nothing and leave some dazed ... consequence?

Guess ... it happens when living in the great unknown ... some folk are bothered but remain unlearned ... but quite determined! Is there another point to be made ... that one went the alien way ... and so we don't know about them!

Thus the dance begins in the dark and mystery as laid out ... substantial downer ... because of inequities ... some of these mute critters couldn't balance a tome or books ... what was buried comes up again ...

Only suspected to be buried ... not virtue ... the solution? That's out of here ... begone!

Beyond that ... we don't know ... face it!

Good morning. I'll be getting a much needed pedicure this afternoon. My friend and I will be having lunch then will go to the nail place together. It will be fun to have a girls date.

But first, bloodwork this morning. I don't have an appointment. I'll have to text to join the virtual line. Hopeful it's not too busy.

@Northwind
At our lab the virtual line is a little faster than the walk-in line. But it's not a huge difference.
Have fun on your girls date.

This lab started using this software during covid. It is text based and works great. It is different from what LifeLabs uses. I wish every place that has waiting rooms and lineups would use this system. One day I commented that if restaurants could use this type of system, then other places could as well. They told me this program came from a restaurant. It seems so simple.
