Hugs, kay, and thanks for mr curler's great love and attention to you. It makes all the difference. My big guy will curse me at a hundred paces, but also defend me to death. It's a real good thing.

On a selfish note, the shifting of snow this winter is getting very wearisome.
Endless dribbling snow is definitely not enjoyable (unless your area needs future moisture). We are spoiled as a son comes over with the snowblower and keeps our yard safe for us. We share the blower actually. We paid for it, he stores and uses it.
Small town story coming up -
He told us he used it insomeone else's yard yesterday. Small town story alert -
When picking up his meds at the pharmacy the pharmacist (who went to school with our kids) said his blower had broken down and his elderly parents were housebound. Dad was worried because if they needed to get to the hospital access wasn't available. Our son popped over and fixed the problem.
One of the nurses I spoke to said that they were snowed in when we had a storm a while back. She, and several others, doctors, nurses, technicians, cleaning staff etc. went to work on volunteered snowmobiles.

Went to the February Probus meeting this morning.
Pick up my sister-in-law on the way, so we have a 30min chin wag on the way there, and on the way home, which is nice.
The speakers were from Reception House, an organization that receives and works with refugees.
Great information shared. Nice network development

Do you have an oven? Can you get premade pastry shells? Butter tarts are actually quite easy to make. Easier than you might think.

The most difficult step is making the pastry and that can be bypassed. The end product is still fantastic.
No, p3, we don't have an oven. We've lived in 6 apartments since coming to Korea, and not one of them had an oven. It's really pretty standard here that most homes don't. The closest thing Yobo and I have is an airfryer. Airfryer butter tarts? Perhaps worthy of investigation. I've never seen premade pastry shells, though

They look good, thank you. The only problem may be this, "These butter tarts are made with simple pantry ingredients. You only need six ingredients plus a package of frozen tart shells" Still, I guess I could make my own pastry

The lack of ovens and baked goods would one of the downsides for me if we ever moved to China. Doesn't seem likely to happen, though.

Some people here just have a small oven that sits on a countertop. Others just have a toaster oven. Others have an airfryer. The most luxurious and modern of homes do have ovens like in Canada

And @BetteTheRed and @chansen, my imagination got a boost with the images you provided.
The chucking disabled kid story? Yeah, that was a thing I really did. If I've told it before, I apologize. The gist is Carter loved throwing himself around pre-injury, so after the injury it fell to me to throw him around. At Bloorview they had a play room staffed by a very knowledgeable therapist and a rotating gaggle of teenaged volunteers. When it was open and he didn't have an appointment, I'd drop him off. Dropping him off involved opening the door, getting him out of his chair (while he started giggling expectantly) and chucking him across the room an extremely careless distance into a pile of beanbag chairs, while new horrified high schoolers looked on and the therapist just shook her head, powerless to stop me and knowing that Carter loved every second of it.

Helped that I had good aim. Not that "throwing toddlers" is something you put on your CV.

Just want to say glad I stopped by, and nice chatting here. I’m afraid I’m feeling burnt out from discussion already. So, bye again for now. Take care!
Totally get the need for a break sometimes. Take care of yourself, Kimmio, recharge those creative juices, and come back when you're ready. The site will be here, eagerly waiting for your return

Good morning! Happy Thursday! A bit sloppy outside in this area, hope it's better where you are. Longing for butter tarts, and an air fryer recipe, generous sharing of a snow blower, greetings to a long-time poster who has taken a break, nice drives to good meetings, children as projectiles, and all the other things that will come up today; we bring it to the Coffee Cart for chat, for support, foe education and amusement. We do this over the best fresh brewed coffee Canada has to offer, as well as the finest doughnuts available, fresh and warm from the oven. Come in when you can, join the conversations, and enjoy the company! All is ready, all are welcome!
