Feel like our services today will be as well-attended as ever. After the children's worship service, the Sunday School teachers and I are going out to lunch to celebrate a successful year in ministry. We're going to an octopus restaurant. Not a favorite food of mine, but I hear it also serves things like pizza, and pork cutlets

Yet another rainy day here. I finished knitting the project and will be weaving in ends then blocking it. Some of you know what I'm talking about. :ROFLMAO: In English, I'm finishing it up. There may be a book in my day and who knows, maybe a procrastinated task or two.

Of the animals with tentacles, I am partial to cuttlefish, esp. small ones. Tend to be less chewy. Most Chinese dimsums have cuttlefish steamed in a curry sauce which I absolutely adore. Small squid are okay, too, if cooked properly. Octos are a bit rubbery in my experience.

Yes that's what I have seen.y an extension of Christmas for me.
Yes that's what I have seen.
Today is an extension of Christmas for me. There's to be a meal and social time at one kid's house with almost all the family there. It sounds like the only people missing will be the Alberta branch but they all showed up for a gathering of the clan a while back. I need to pack up my item for the gift exchange that includes 'stealing'.

It was a dry afternoon so we had a campfire. Friends came by and we had a nice visit. We have to take advantage of times when it isn't raining. This has been a wet winter.

I did the finishing touches of my shawl and it is now drying after being blocked.

Good morning! Rain (heavy rain warnings in this area for the day), Low Sunday, campfires, holiday dinners still coming up, and all the rest of the stuff going on around us and within us, we bring it to the Coffee Cart for chat and support, over coffee, tea, hot chocolate, doughnuts and fruitcake. Coffee is fresh brewed, tea water hot, and the baked things delectably warm. All is ready, all are welcome! Come join the conversations!

It seemed.pretty quiet for a Saturday yesterday when I was out and about. I know one family who was doing Christmas yesterday so maybe lots of people were still celebrating. Others could have been resting after the festivities.

Glad to see we haven't polished off the fruitcake yet.

Good morning. It's still pretty dark here so not sure what awaits outside. No rain on the roof at least. We're heading to friends for lunch today. Dog will be delighted since she saw them at the campfire yesterday. They are pretty much her favourite people. They are house sitting for friends right now and will be our neighbours in a couple weeks.

I assume there's an implied "outside of us" there? :giggle:

Here, the rain just keeps coming. More like late March or early April than the Christmas period right now. Yesterday was 12 degrees here and we even saw some strange light in the sky at times. :D Went for a long walk wearing a hoodie and windbreaker rather than a parka.

Today the temperature is just below freezing - quite unusual for here at this time of year. We also have snow flurries. Yesterday was much the same.

Our gathering of the clan yesterday was very enjoyable. Lots of catching up on news and a yummy meal that I didn't have to do anything about.

Our older son chose to stay home. He claims he can't sleep, which he does with almost boring regularity. He refuses to DO the things that might help, those boring things like eating a healthy diet, following a routine, avoiding caffeine etc.. He had a tendency to stubbornness as a child but his traumatic brain injury seems to have rendered him incapable of taking advice. All we can do is roll with it. We can't make him be amenable to help!

Curious, what was your strange light? I saw a stationary light that I thought was a star but it didn't move.

Good morning! Happy Monday! How is everyone? Got all those resolutions written up yet?
The rare appearance of the sun, dreams of eating burgers and fries, dogs and neighbours, an all the other things that will pop up today come with us to the Coffee Cart, for conversation and support, over coffee, tea and still some hot chocolate left. Brownies and squares are available, as well as fruitcake, with or without marzipan. All is ready, fresh and warm; all are welcome to join in the fun. Come in and share in the discussion!

It is probably best that I'm at home where I can keep my grumpy self to myself. I am supposed to get a CT scan in two weeks. It hasn't been scheduled so I called the cancer agency to let them know. I'm calling because 90% of the time there has been a glitch. I didn't get a satisfactory answer so called the hospital directly. They didn't have the requisition. I left another message at the cancer centre. Someone called me back and said the requisition had been sent, there are delays. Yada yada. I interrupted her and told her that while it may have been sent, it wasn't received. She agreed to resend the fax. I suspect she picked up that I wasn't in the mood for platitudes very quickly. I called the hospital back to let them know the fax had been re-sent. Now we wait.

You would think that a cancer centre would have a clue that this is important. f***.

Northwind swings by to freshen the tea and coffee. Goodies of your choice are here too. Pillows are fluffed and blankets folded and ready for use. The fire has been refreshed. Everything is ready for a cozy visit on this last day of the year.

I hope all is well with @Redbaron
