Caught up on some threads while waiting in ER. Bad choice of footwear for a quick task led to slipping and falling on front steps, landing on my back. Just got some X-rays. Waiting for porter to take me back to ER. Need to be well enough tomorrow morning to go to a meeting about 70 km from here tomorrow morning. I might need B to drive me.

Ouch Jim. I hope all is well and that you feel better soon.

I'm home after getting my shots and returning my library book. I drove through town rather than taking the parkway. It sounds like that may have been a good decision. It's a dreary wet day here. No wind so far. I'm home for the rest of the day.

Are they still expecting a similar event today or tomorrow?
Someone I know in Washington suggested they were so I imagine BC is, too.

WInd has picked up here. Was marveling at one of the local squirrels. They were out on a very thin branch as it was being tossed around in gusts of wind. The squirrel looked a bit desperate at times, but hung in there. Finally headed deeper into the tree, though.

I went to visit Mom at the Nursing Home (back in respite care, will be home next week , then back in again for a month). We usually walk together and stand at the big windows looking out. Because her vision is poor, I describe what I see. Today, the antics of a squirrel caught my attention. So I gave a play by play.

Remember the favored man said all you need to control a brane storm is a felt pen ...

They didn't sense it felt or even well thought thro' ... just a brae in storm ... only breezes in the willows at the base ... psychosis?

If you live in a place like this for long, it is catchy ... in sane goes in all directions until sate 'd ... diabolical eh ... like golden urchins ...

I took my old neighbour out for the tree lighting in town. When I went in , it was just drizzling. We had some supper and two hours later it was a soaking rain. With transport chair and umbrella, we made it there and back, she enjoyed watching the kids walk by after the tree lighting, even her physician with family stopped a moment and said hello. She was very delusional when I came, but “normal” when I left.
I am working tomorrow, so just taking it easy for the rest of the night.

You know, earlier today I found myself on the top step of a ladder in my slippers, because my son had shot a foam dart into the light fixture dangling in our impossibly tall family room. I was thinking how stupid my footwear was. I got away with it. Sorry you didn't.

It's raining heavily now. No evidence of winds so far. We have friends on their way home from Australia tonight. They're on the last legs of their journey. They're currently on the passenger ferry (no vehicles) which wasn't cancelled. That's a good sign. Hubby is picking them up and taking them to their car.

Good morning! For resilient people, ad other descriptive terms, visits to parents in care homes, choosing footwear (hope the back is feeling better, Jim), tree lightings and neighbours and the other topics that the day will bring forth, we gather in spirit round the Coffee Cart, for gingerbread kids, squares, tea, and coffee. We discuss whatever comes up, find and offer support, and deepen our community. The coffee is fresh, tea water boiling, and bakedgoodies still warm. Come in when you have the time, and join the conversation!

And remember there is no perfect intelligence or emotional states because of the mixing as we go about in life ... so find the imperfection hard to assume and assimilate so they get pious ... hard neighbors to get around ... best to just go out at night so they cannot see you as you travel in the dark robes ... feral eh?

It is a common initiation: a dark and stormy night ... look what Daniel did for the presumed POTUS! Pyres of rhetoric and torus ... like a bagel ... can one bag EL?

I am on tylenol and two prescription pain killers. Some pain is constant. Much more intense pain with some movements. Had a decent sleep. Praying for people in the west with the intense weather. Our daughter in Calgary told us they are expecting up to 40 cm of snow this weekend in areas around Calgary with lesser amounts in Calgary
