Good morning! It's Monday again. For the World Communion Sunday services yesterday, for animal blessings, for the plans for the week ahead, we gather round the Coffee Cart to help sort it all out, over hot beverages and baked goodies, this morning squares and brownies. The coffee is fresh, tea water is boiling, baked goods warm from the oven. Come join in the fun!

Just learned yesterday that it is no longer called World Wide Communion Sunday. When did the name change, does anyone know?

World Communion: the service was based on Job a confusing book on the toile crossing ur sight on being silent and bottom lion ... thus laid out as words go down! Folk are more interested in free willies and no Oh NU's ... respect? Non whatsoever so the collective issue as federal cannot be assisted! WE're do'med by Pede ... iconic if not semi drifted ... like the winds of Qua 'Deire ... What? Very arid ... thus disenchanting! Some say dissolution aryls ...

What's "aryl"? That's from an alien tongue disposed of as lost ... something to dig for ancient if not arc-like understanding ... do omed !

We are domed to pious like shards for scraping the scars ... off the media ... then we can forget our onus!

1940. I think... maybe. We didn't celebrate it
World Wide Communion Sunday was adopted by the National Council of Churches in 1940. The idea originated in 1936 with the Presbyterian Church in the US.

Sometime between and now the name was changed to World Communion Sunday.

In honor of the ancients that olden idears demand we bow down to. Did you know that presby once meant something about adhering to the ancient and then a class appeared that although, young and stunned, declared they were the Gods of present ... presently you may observe this as the deep past is gone by ... forgotten as scraped off like Bar Neigh Buss ... the kiss of the end ... they pres Bi that qui's at the end ... be the death of many!

Then it Busse doubt ... as question arose as a WOKE in the mourning ... it is just fallow ... wrought?

I led worship at two little churches....so no communion there, as I am a lay leader. And, I guess...that means I missed out on world communion too. Guest guitarist and singer came to both churches, so that was nice.

Was in the mood to cook this afternoon.

Started with the ham being prepped for oven
Then decided to make scalloped potatoes
Then remembered the butternut squash that should be roasted.
As dinner was developing we decided to invite sister-in-law and her husband.
Corn of course
Remembered Brussel sprouts that should be cooked ..Hmm and leftover bacon went in with them
Son offered to make a Caesar salad

Turned out to be quite the spread and a great visit.

Unwrapped the dark fruitcakes and had a piece for dessert.

Dang, it's good.

All of course started with that ham!

Lots of leftovers for lunches and a beautiful ham bone for soup.

Good morning! Communion services or lack of them, cooking up a meal to share with friends, finding an eatery with wonderful food, we gather to chat over these events, and all the other stuff that comes to pass, or comes to mind. The tea water is ready, the coffee just finished brewing, the doughnuts are fresh from the oven. Everything is ready, all are welcome. Come join the conversations!

If you mist communion was it because of cloudy misinformation supplied by Ja' de'd character?

Jade and jaded are interesting words like sate and its variants ... satyr on sate'n and the never satisfied soul?

As words beyond their understanding phoque avoid "M" ... the medium that falls right in the middle of the alphabet as it goes round by chance of some crank (sometimes said to be a dull and bored person that cannot amuse them selves).

Admittedly you can't tell them anything either as alien material seems ethereal to them ... like contagion in a closed system ... vegetating?

Good morning. Pretty cool here but I’m still going to hang the laundry out. Mom is in respite at a local nursing home, thanks to some cancellations. I try to visit most days. The only thing in the world that gives her any happiness is family.

Hope everyone enjoys the respite, I'm sure it's well deserved for all. It's a good thing to replenish ones self when you're a caregiver without guilt....it's just good management for all.

For lack of a better place to post this, good news, Ontario is now allowing mammograms for women starting at 40 yrs. old and women no longer have to go thru our doctors to set up an appointment ....we can book it ourselves. Finally!!!
Hopefully the younger women will take advantage of this.

Yeah, heard that this morning on CBC radio. Some good health care news for a change. Still can't get a doctor for my parents. Can buy beer at the local convenience store/gas station.

The importance of this really hit home for me in 2022 when my favourite singer had breast cancer surgery at 41 (and then was back on tour within 3 weeks but that's another story). She lives in Sweden which has been screening at 40 for some time and it was found on a routine mammogram. Interestingly, she's Dutch by birth and if she had remained in her homeland, she wouldn't have been eligible until 50.

Yeah, the family doc situation just keeps getting worse, I think. Little M and his wife still don't have one. We just got lucky. We landed a guy fresh out of residency in 2021 and he's now closed to new patients.
