Good morning back at ya, Red! 50:50 weather for here this weekend as of this morning's forecast. Sunny tomorrow, cloudy with a chance of showers Sunday. Oh well, just means yardwork tomorrow, housework Sunday.

Saw my snake friend again yesterday. Seems to be resident in a section of the woods where I sometimes walk. Cute little guy. Hasn't said anything about eating fruit yet. ;)

Sometimes I find it strange that what I think is common knowledge, like the structure of various 'national' public broadcasters, like BBC, CBC, npr, is not actually common knowledge.

Also, early fall is going on forever, and I haven't turned the furnace on yet...

Final edit: love snakes, wish I knew a spot where one hung out.

We had one cold snap where we ran it at night for a couple days. Gave us a chance to test it, at least. We seem to be getting closer and closer to putting it on for good, though. Been chilly here the last couple nights.

Good morning! Autumn weather arriving, furnaces and flannel sheets, cooler weather coming, leaves starting to turn around here. Hoping the colours where you are are lovely.
The Coffee Cart is up and running, with fresh coffee and hot tea, and maybe time to add the hot chocolate too. The muffins are warm from the oven. Come in when you have a chance and share in (or start) a conversation. As always we chat, support, chuckle, weep, and enjoy each others' company. All is ready, all are welcome. Come join in!

Brrr. Heading off to the giant pumpkin weigh-off. This year, I have no zucchini to bring! Son's pumpkins aren't so big, and he picked them 3 weeks ago (before birth of baby) so they've lost weight in the heat of the ongoing summer. My sister said: "Is that all I have to do to lose weight? Stand outside when it's warm?" Haha.

There is a big fishing tournament on here today with hundreds of hopeful folks wanting to be the prize winners. The day started with heavy cold rain. That has now become SNOW, great big flakes of the white stuff. It isn't settling but still................... I'm thinking of them all but mostly of my grandude who is one of the volunteers working to make the event a success.

Looks like we'll be waiting a while in Ontario. There's not even any frost in the 2 week forecast. Zach's birthday is less than 2 weeks away and it snowed the day he was born.

My tomato plants are still producing. They're like, "Shouldn't we be done by now?"

We enjoyed a nice afternoon around the campfire with friends. It was nice to reconnect and catch up after the summer. Dog wins a medal for staying on the site instead of chasing the very healthy rabbits that hang around the area.

Good morning! Pumpkin weigh-ins, fishing in the snow, no frost for 2 weeks, lung capacity, friends and campfires. All these things, and all that will arise today, we bring to the Coffee Cart, for conversation, mutual support, and chatting over hot beverages and cookies. All is fresh and warm; all are welcome. Come join in the fun!

You mist the left out and near dead from force labor ... several incidents in the media ... the powers dislike media because of what it speaks ... results in very slick media ... no names mentioned ... because some get particular over ode names ... yah gotta give it to them they demand such names be suspended --- Thomas D!

Pretty nice day here, except for a bit of rain and thunder around 1, just in time for our annual animal blessing. Lucy has been blessed, sadly, probably for the last time (she is a large dog, albeit a mutt, who will be 15 on Halloween. Today, she didn't interact with other critters, of course, but due to the rain, we tucked ourselves behind big Phil, and his old golden, Badoo, who Lucy is not threatened by. She wasn't sure about the cage of the bunny, but we coped, and although she refused her cookie, she didn't try to nip the Rev this year...

We had a nice service for World Communion Sunday. Rain arrived quite substantially around 4:00 pm and then the sun came out.

Our world communion service was also lovely. Big guy and I had an interesting discussion around the difference between Catholic and UCC communion. He was raised Catholic, unusual for a German family, I think. Not so curiously, we arrive to Communion without eating (my mother and her family are RCC, and some of it sticks). I elected to spare him the substantiation versus transubstantiation lecture (I grew up Lutheran).

So I'm back to a bit of knitting. I have a stash that will never be consumed, and I've recently been gifted with a big ball of a pretty super chunky. It's looking like matching Xmas hats, sister found me best pattern, met me at Lens Mills to discuss and purchase needles (she has very few that are this big; she's a sock yarn weight type of knitter lol). Pattern I finally picked was fine for DPN (I am a bit of a disaster with circulars, as I will go in the wrong direction), although she would have re-written one of the bad ones for me. After that, I have an odd shawl (on circulars, yikes), made of little skeins of fancy dyes by an artisan dyer.
