I just came back from the city. There was lots of traffic. Crazy.

Today I had an infusion at the hospital. I'm wearing my orange Every Child Matters shirt. I passed several friendly and smiling Indigenous people on my way to the clinic. I didn't give it much thought. When I was waiting my turn, and Indigenous nurse passed by me and complimented my shirt. I said it was an important issue. She gave me the thumbs up. I then realized why the Indigenous people I passed today were so friendly. :)

I also have to do some homework. There's a beautiful piece of Indigenous art above the door of the main entrance of the hospital. I've never seen it before.

Nice art work for sure.
I'm dealing with giant zucchinis too. I'll probably freeze some to use in soups and baking in the winter. But I have a couple of whales out in the garden. Thinking of entering one in a contest in September...Pumpkins and zucchinis are weighed, and there is a certain claim to fame for the largest.

Typical Ontario summer package: New potatoes, about 8, some more amusingly shaped than others, two lovely medium sized beets, a green pepper, and the aforesaid two monster zucchini/marrow. Local community garden. My own container gardening produces mainly lettuces and herbs.

Duck season! Rabbit season! Duck season! Rabbit season! No.... it's Zucchini season!!
Though it can be a part of many good recipes, zucchini does seem to be in alarmingly plentiful supply. Hopes that whether used, frozen, or otherwise, it does eventually disappear.

Good morning! Zucchini and artwork, and other things going on. We gather round the Coffee Cart in spirit to process it. All is ready, come on in!

That's a great deal to digest for those stopped and refusing to pass anything ... entertainment for the powers beyond belief ... Gods? Very idealistic in a flawed situation ...

Yeah, I used to get some from my boss at the library every year. She lived in a small town and had a vegetable patch that inevitably produced way more zucchini than she and her husband could use (her kids were grown).

It is fairly severe. We seem to have stopped short of intubation. Yes to early treatment
Good they knew what it was at least to get that treatment started, and no intubation is a good sign too, but definitely a scary illness.
I hope she sees some decent progress soon and then a smooth recovery.

Good morning! Happy Friday! For hospitalized loved ones, for early treatment, for suppliers of zucchini (needed or not), for all the other stuff that goes on, we bring it to the Coffee Cart, where listening ears and caring hearts are gathered. All is ready, come and join in.

Please tell me the whole world is not on fire. Friends have left Yellowknife as a fire threatens that city. West Kelowna is on fire and many structures have been lost. The fire has jumped the Okanagan Lake into Kelowna. Other big fires burn in the Interior. Scary times. :(

In more local news, this trailer is chilly this morning and I'm enjoying sitting under a quilt. We'll be going for a short hike with friends this morning

Meanwhile prayers for rain for BC and NWT are most welcome.

And yet there are those that deny that the environment is not heated and distraught ... as human powers are in control!

Is there a smite of indication of powerful density present?

The fire has jumped the Okanagan Lake into Kelowna
 I know someone in Kelowna. Retired exec from my employer moved out there to be closer to family. Hope they're going to be okay. They at least have family in both Alberta and BC they can crash with if they get evac'd. This wildfire season has just been insane.

I've been reading how many extreme fire zones have now turned to indigenous knowledge for containing out of control forest fires..these are a people that regard fire as medicine that contains fire by burning off strategic areas to avoid out of control fires. California is now a state that is listening and I believe Australia too.
Definitely praying for Yellowknife and others too.
