It time I officially announce a hiatus from my crazymaddelightful WC family

Who knows what the future may bring?
Remember, be kind, most people are fighting battles you know nothing aboot
Life is too short as it is
Find the others
And be careful with mixing up those who actually do bad things and people who happen to be associated with the same identity. This can be a tricky one and has ruined many a friendship or potential friendship

Laugh often
Esp at yourself (remember Canadiand your genetic birthright!)


Don't forget to take breaks

@BetteTheRed, keep up the Wyrd. The world needs it. And I am glad people like Carolla can keep showing you tools that can expand your emotional pallette. Dalai Lama is very schmart. And funny. You'll do well. You survived teenagehood lol

The plague just seemed to be a bit slower to hit here. Seems like everyone is getting sick after Halloween no big surprise there considering the celebration near me.
Things are now worst for sick absences from school, worse than the Jan/Feb wave.
Fingers crossed we can manage to skip this too.
 
Checking in with a helper on the keyboard both hands are almost paralized now so communication is difficult. I actually drop in to the cafe quite often and enjoy hearing about your lives. Mrs Anteater I can,t imagine the care you are giving to these people next door. What a wonderful world it would be if everyone cared as much about their neighbor.
 
Good morning! Many eyes on the US midterm elections, watching to see if the US rises from the ashes, or is circling the drain. Anyway, as we also deal with our own situation-- covid on the rise, POEC hearings and such. Anyway, let's discuss it over coffee (or tea, or hot chocolate, or etc.) All is ready and waiting.

Good morning Seeler - thank you for dropping in to say hello - I have been thinking of you. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss of hand function, and so grateful that you have helpers who can assist. Lean into the love all around you - I think I first heard ABPenny say that & it's a phrase I've remembered & used often - it means a lot to me.
 
With all the snow here it's time to get the fire going. Seeler you can rest by it.
Chemguy actually did turn the gas onto ours. No need to bank it, just flip a switch.
I remember good family friends who had one with a yellow push button and at that age I found it completely amazing.

I passed by a local hair studio last week - they have a HUGE screen on one wall & 'the fireplace channel' was crackling away!
 
Sitting by a fire with a book sounds idyllic right now. We just got ploughed out this morning after being housebound for several days. That fact doesn't help much as there is no parking available downtown -just a driving path down the centre of the roads. Can't do banking, shopping for anything or collect the mail without walking some distance on ice topped paths. Not my style!
 
We had freezing cold wind and some single hail pieces here and there.
I got two meat chickens for my freezer today from junior and my covid shot. So far so good.

Also got the news that the one whose job I am presently filling in for has gotten the other position she applied for- which means I then can apply to do this permanently. With 21 years seniority there is a good chance I will get it.
I love this job. 99% of patients are appreciative and express it that way. The job is routine, but that is fine for the last 5 years until retirement. I have some spare time where I can work on projects that others don’t have time for.
( just did an inventory of all our wheelchairs). I have actually time to drink a large cup of tea while I am doing some work on the computer in the morning. I have to brush up my computer skills a bit.
 
Have to laugh at my nephew a bit. When he was an active baby his favourite toy for quite some time was the fisher price barn. My parents kept buying additional animals even though it was too excessive so my sister tried to keep the basics out - 1 pig, 1 horse, etc. She was going to pack the llama away as it's not really a typical toy barn animal but he lived it so the llama stayed.

He turned 7. His birthday money was planned to pick out lego all along. His pick? Lego Minecraft Llama :ROFLMAO:

Some days he looks so old, teen like almost but that little kid is still in there somewhere.
