Room For All

Remember to dance, tattoo and sing for tomorrow ... when the wind dies below and we vegetate in the roots from which we were initiated into the insane world of great loves and little sense ... sets the world to jiggle and earthquake ... modes! Like bates ... rebates, etc. and a lot to come back ...

Good morning! How is everyone's weekend starting? The coffee cart is up and running, all is ready. C'mon in for a heapin' helpin' of our hospitality.

Imagine hea'pin being converted to a head pin without a thought ... and thus nailed down! Pillars or piles ...

Leaves one in la ur chin ... can there be a lo'r chin ... like a double if too weighty? They've found an ancient Walrus in PEI, sometime the title too a psychology magazine ... a joke since I'm told there is no psyche and all is being done to wipe out this tone of thinking ... allowing power to run rampant. Said to have blown a bridge in Crimea (a tune).

Is there something toit ... atune meant for what? Thus the hummers ...

Did I just hear the train at the junction? Good morning. The park is full this weekend as people celebrate Thanksgiving by camping. The weather promises to be perfect for the occasion. We'll see what the weekend brings for this household.

The sun is shining here, but brrr ... seems chilly! It's the last week for the farmer's market in my neighbourhood so I may wander over. I can hear the musicians from inside my home, beckoning me. Have a bunch of tasks on my list today & then will go visit some friends for supper & games night which is always lots of laughs. Tomorrow son & gf are coming for an overnight visit - likewise always lots of fun & laughter. Sending love & thanksgiving blessings to all here at the cafe.

good morning, all! As we await the dawn of a new day, let us gather round the coffee cart, continue the conversations and start new ones, and give and find support. (Blue Jay fans in particular might need that right now... what a letdown that was... but I digress) All os ready, help yourselves.

Still frost on the roofs here. BUt the sun is out. I am starting the day slowly, having worked yesterday, and I have to wait until it’s warmer as I have some painting to do outside ( needs 10 degrees), it’s supposed to go up to 16, so I should be fine.

Ya ... that Blue Jays game was a huge let down. And OMG that collision! I wonder how Springer is doing today? Probably a good thing the season is over for them personally so he & Bo & all the others on the injured list can get on with healing.

No frost here yet - fingers crossed it holds off for a bit longer!

Any thanksgiving thoughts?
We had a bit of that during worship today.
I have some trouble with the feeling of feeling thankful that I am not in a shitty situation like others who are experiencing war or loss of family members….
Something doesn’t feel right when comparing one’s privilege to other people’s tragedies…

I'm thankful my son is improving at literacy and catching up to his class. I'm also thankful he is embracing the outdoors and the hike we went on today. I am thankful that he is exploring running and throwing and other athletic talents. I am not thankful he threw a pinecone at his teacher.

Good morning! Happy Thanksgiving! We offer thanks for kids' improving skills, as well as many other things. As we contemplate life with a thankful attitude (at least for the day), let us gather round the coffee cart in solidarity of spirit. All is ready.

Mrs. Anteater....I understand exactly what you mean. And chansen...I think I would have enjoyed teaching your son! Even though I know I am currently in a place of privilege...no wars, no hurricanes, no poverty...my thanksgiving grace mentioned that we have our challenges and joys, and we are grateful for the strength and opportunity to meet both head on. I don't want to hide from the problems of the world, but I will pray for guidance to make my part of the world more humane and caring, and for guidance on what to do to help other parts of the world. But, as always, I wonder if there is more I should be doing, thinking, saying.... And: HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all the listeners and thinkers and doers here. You are appreciated!

Depends. How good are you at dodging pinecones?

In all seriousness, his teachers typically adore him. He has his moments, but he's also funny and kind. He struggles socially with the boundaries of what his classmates find acceptable play, but he is quite social.

His teacher has finally got a system down where he isn't a regular disruption to the class. He can work away for about 45 minutes before he raises his hand and needs a break in the hall to decompress. 10 or 15 minutes later, he's back for the second half of the class. Reward systems did not work - he needs that break, but he's bright enough that he catches on quickly to whatever he missed.

We get regular updates by email, good and bad. Sometimes when he goes too far we get a phone call. Yay.

Good morning. We enjoyed a visit with my sister and her husband yesterday. Dinner was ham, scalloped potatoes and beets. Today we'll enjoy a small potluck gathering with friends. I'm thankful to be able to gather again. I won't be hurrying to crowded settings just yet. These small gatherings are nice. I too struggle with the times where our thankfulness is ignoring our privilege. At the same time, recognizing where we can be thankful is good practice.

Crow-ded space ... where we gather for fallout ... Jaimeç-Roué ... the line man ...

In the morning a murderous racket! Animism ...

My friend who usually invites us for Thanksgiving turkey has had her house renovated since June- they are moved back in ( in August), but the kitchen cupboards haven’t come yet. So I picked up Chinese yesterday and we had paper plates. Nothing wrong with that- it’s the company that counts.

Happy Thanksgiving! Had a traditional ish meal yesterday at my sister's. Just our 2 families, my parents are still in Winnipeg. Tiday Chemguy and I are doing our newer traditional meal for when it's the 2 of us, slow cooker turkey breasts with cranberry sauce. We enjoy it so much if we don't do it for Thanksgiving we borrow a holiday from the US and do it around then, give or take a week.

I love the day after a big meal: leftovers! So tonight was a good meal but didn't take long to make. Apparently, I am now the official pumpkin pie maker in the family too. Mom used to but her dementia has stopped her from even remembering that she used to make pies every Thanksgiving. I also made an apple pie. Pies seem to be a good way to keep people happy.

I don't think I have ever made a pie. My sister does. This year she bought whole pumpkin.

Funny, that. My mother was the worst cook ever, but a decent baker, if she found the right recipe. She made a lovely pastry, from an easy recipe that is quite universal and ancient.
