Good morning! The weekend is here, and with it the coffee cart is ready. We seem to have some fresh doughnuts today. All thigs are ready. So, if you want to share thoughts on storms, explain how WiFi works, share memories of childhood pets, or describe the reasons for the blue lines on a hockey rink, go for it.

Um, can I just have a tea? All those sound too intellectual for me. Especially the blue lines one. (but our women smoked the Finns today so there's something related).

Back to the old grind on Monday. I am seeing the eye doc on Tuesday for my 1 week followup. While I am there, I may finalize a date for the right eye. I am itching to get it done. I am so used to it being the good eye that having it as the bad one is a bit disorienting.

We have another winter storm, the third or fourth in a row on a weekend. This time more than 24 hours of freezing rain and ice pellets. It started this morning and I barely made it into my street and on my driveway. 15-20 cm of ice pellets on top of two centimetres of ice. Unfortunately I have to work tomorrow and it is not going to stop until later in the morning turning into flurries. If the snowplough doesn’t come in time, I will be stuck. Not sure what I shall hope for.

1 week followup on my eye and all is well. Tested at 20/20 for both distance and near, which is even better than promised. Booked the other eye now that this one is behind me. By March I could be glasses-free (because, hey, an ape wearing glasses looks silly:nerd:).

Happy Tuesday. I missed Monday this week...We were away visiting the soon-to-be 9 month old. He is developing quite a personality, and enjoyed 'performing' for me. He would do a fake laugh to get my attention, over and over again. It was pretty cute.

Given where the convoy thread has gone, I suggest we keep it out of here save discussing personal impacts. My son says all is well in his part of Ottawa, but he and partner have gone downtown to see the spectacle a couple times (they don't live right downtown but aren't far and are close to an O Train station so can get there easily).

My story board has caused a new round of consternation over the already unpopular (with some segments) upgrade of last year by announcing a revamp of the messaging system. Frankly, the current one sucks and the new one sounds similar to Xenforo conversations so I'm rather eager for it. This is the one that I tried to get ownership of so I could put it on Xenforo (the software that powers this place) but the owner decided to keep it.

Still a few days to go before I learn the results of their latest competition. Ended up with a great field, if a bit smaller than the last few. I've got myself in about fifth IIRC. The last few were really good.
 
Got notice from friends in Maine that they hardly know anyone that hasn't lost someone to COVID ... but they are still determined to hold a straight course on a world that goes round a great deal ... the deal may be subtle ... sort of sacred underground and differentiated from the superficial ... perhaps innate? Thus that sense of things hidden ... like flushed documents ...
