It's something I do, not infrequently. I just let it dry out; it's a 12 year old Escape whose main inhabitant besides the driver, is a large, hairy dirty dog who likes to swim at the beach. The occasional interior rinse, as long as I don't let mould develop (and this is not the climate for that, really; it's coolish and very breezy today, and it's more or less dry now, and actually smells a little better; dog had a black mud episode last week from which neither she nor the car have fully recovered). If I ever have another new car, I may revert to some sort of car cleanliness regimen. It's tidy, it's just dirty.
 
Sat on the porch this afternoon chatting with a friend who dropped by. We had the most amazing thunder storm ... the thunder rolled (I like that kind - rather than the loud boomers!) and rolled and rolled - it went on absolutely NON-STOP for about 10 minutes. From the porch it sounded like it rolled up the street, and then back down ... quite amazing and memorable. There was some lightning - but not much to see as it was still daylight.
 
Got up early today to drive the hour into the city to go to Costco. 40 minutes down the highway, car makes funny revving and as I stop, can’t get a gear in. Brand new Kia Soul, at 5783km. Hasn’t even had its first oilchange yet. Tow truck came quickly and driver took pity on me and let me drive along ( covid rule wasn’t really supposed to, but I am fully vaccinated and had masks on.) Needs new transmission. Internet search showed that apearently the 2020 and 2021 had this happening. Also they had engine fires)!) - and I will be getting a software update that will warn me....? To get out of the car in time??
Still love my Kia Mia....
 
Oh dear. I'm starting to think about a new (to me at least) vehicle, and this takes Kia a step down. I'm honestly thinking of a Hyundai, maybe off-lease, probably their small SUV; not quite ready to go back to car...

Much as I've actually really enjoyed the Escape, the two dealerships in B____ are too awful to deal with.

According to the internet, the 2017 Kia Soul is the most reliable one. The changed something in the 2020/21 model.
 
Speaking of cars - my guess too much speeding, matches a vehicle description that gets a lot of complaints.
Upcoming, it's too big.

Good morning, all! For grandkids both present and expected, for the car, with all its faults and problems, for those who seem to have the mystical power to cause rain by leaving the windows down and sunroof open, for all sorts of other topics, worries and joys, we gather around the coffee cart. Haha I think that car is past a problem and is just a write off now. Drove by the house today, looked like supports were being added.

We had a few of those in London over the past couple years. Including one that set off a natural gas explosion and fire with heavy damage to the neighbourhood. And another that took out a newly opened restaurant. I guess buildings are hard to miss or something. :oops:
 
This was residential street, close to a 3 way stop followed by a playground zone. I'm very confused how it could even happen. I'm not certain of the direction they were even going.
 
My mother was truly hilariously awful driver. Near the end of her driving career, she got stopped trying to get in the wrong side of a divided highway. They turned her around, called me, and said "keep her in town, at least, please". Older/demented/impaired (by anything) drivers are ubiquitous.

The photo situation appears to be young and reckless.
 
Yeah, there's those, too. The range of bad drivers appears infinite. My baby sister is a motorcycle driving instructor, also a bus driver , also a hilariously hyper-critical personality. Driving anywhere with her, as passenger or driver, entails on-going observation of the inadequate driving abilities of everyone sharing the road with us. I have an uncle, who used to visit Canada bi-annually, with a similar trait. One day, on a trip down to show a baby cousin Niagara Falls, it fell to me to drive. After 1/2 hour of "observations", I pulled to the shoulder and told Uncle J that if he didn't shut up, we were "abandoning mission" and he might be left at the side of the road...

Good morning! As we share stories and thoughts of bad drivers, and suffer the insights of those who are driving purists, let us pause in our sojourning for some virtual companionship and tea/coffee/etc. Note that the coffee cart is not a drive-thru location, so we should be safe from the worst of the errant drivers of vehicles.
