Room For All

Welcome to Wondercafe2!

Thank you Redbaron. It's a somewhat quiet day for me today - I'm "accompanying" my friend through her readiness for ordination interview. She's done well & we reconvene soon to hear feedback from the panel. Having done other such interviews with her and with another candidate, it's a bit pleasanter as an accompanier to do so by zoom. If sitting in person in the room, it's harder for me to remain somewhat expressionless and silent! Here I can just turn off my camera & mic - take notes, knit ...

Good morning, all! The coffee cart stands ready to serve. For those undergoing ordination interviews and those who are with them, as well as continued concern and support for Muslim communities, plus whatever else is in mind or heart, we bring it here and share it, along with hot deinks. Help yourself.

So glad that I decided to go ahead and add "bimonthly medical foot care" to my self-care routine. My feet feel soft and relaxed and the nails are tidy, my eczema is soothed. The young nurse who does them is pleasant, thorough and nicely chatty, and it's a good use of my extended health care benefits.

I've thought about getting medical foot care. My nails are messed from chemo two years ago. In fact I'm surprised I didn't lose the nail on the big toe on my right foot. We're hoping to go to Kelowna next week. If we get there, my friend and I will be getting pedicures together. Are medical foot care sessions less expensive than a pedi?

No, they're a bit more. I'd pay 45-60 for a deluxe pedi, where the medical foot care costs me $68. Salons aren't open here, anyway, and I don't really want polish on my nails (I rarely wear sandals, to start), so I go to "Feet For Life", which do all sorts of medical foot/leg care.

That's still reasonable. I'll look into it in the fall when we get back on the island (assuming we get off the island)

Yes, I find it more reassuring to have a nurse working on my feet than a salon employee. And I think it's important as you get older to have someone keeping an eye on the condition of your nails. And the fact that my toe nails seem to be reasonably healthy tells me that all my problems with my fingernails are associated with hand sanitizer, excess water/disinfectant.

Crossing fingers that you get off the island this summer! (It's looking more likely from what I'm hearing.)

Our numbers are looking good here. They have been below 200 per day for the last few days. I'll be getting my second shot on Monday and Steve should be able to get his before the end of June. I hope we can connect if we make it to Ontario.

There is nothing like this that I have been able to access locally. I found a retired Home Care person who comes to the house and does the very basics for thirty bucks a time. I think the health system is built upside down. Preventive care is not available - but once a health problem deteriorates one can get major care, like surgery.

Yes, indeed. Other than some simple, low-cost things like vaccines, we are generally weak on preventative health care here. We need a more proactive system.

Good morning! For healthy feet we give thanks, for without them we have aught to stand on. For things, like feet, that we too often take for granted, let us take due thought and render due gratitude. The coffee cart is up and going, help yourself to whatever hot drink meets your fancy.

Good morning! The annual meeting of Antler River Watershed is underway this weekend. We rejoice that foot care has been located. We continue to hold our Native sibs and our Muslim sibs in our heart, And we will handle whatever else happens to arise. The coffee cart is ready. Enjoy.

Good morning! Coffee is fresh, water is boiling for tea etc. We're still here.

Is there room for those beyond consciousness ... unconsciousness in a state of altered consciousness? The other side where dreams are respected! Capital and otherwise ... as Monis has little awareness of exchange ... of that stare ... simulating George on the bill ... stunned by engraving ...
