Thanks RedBaron.

I'm thinking of those who have lost folks during these times, and struggle with no way to gather, or to learn new ways to share their loss.
I doubt that cards are called an essential item, but, I feel they should be.

You can buy cards at my No Frills, as well. We're "no frills", but you can live happily on what you buy there.

I have been SO, SO, SO, SO, delighted in the last week, to see the return of "E", a perennially favorite customer. He's well into his 80s, Newfie through and through, and we hadn't seen him at all since the pandemic began (he snuck in once, a few months ago, whispering to me, "don't tell my kids!"). He's had his vaccines, his kids have given him the "go on", and he was through my lane with one thing twice before 9 a.m.

And cards are an essential item. I'm still weeping over a shelf-ful.

It's been a wild week for me.
Got COVID on my first day of work - other four people at the office also tested positive. While I am relatively fine and my oxygen saturation has thankfully been unaltered, I lost the senses of taste and smell and have been feeling under the weather since Wednesday. I think the worse part is the anxiety - I have panic attacks most nights, awaking at 2 or 3 am with the most horrible fear.

To add some emotion, as if I need any more, my wife is pregnant. We've been trying for over a year now, so it's good news. We still have not announced to friends and family because my wife wants to go to an obgyn first and make sure all looks good.

Sorry to hear you got it, hopefully no other problems with it and the smell and taste come back soon.
Congrats! I hope your wife stays healthy, are you together right now? There is a pretty good hotel program here, not sure how things like that are going elsewhere.

We are. She also tested positive but had no symptoms at all.

Oh, I bet that's an added stressor, but good that she has no symptoms!
We are monitoring her saturation very closely but it's a 99 10 out of 10 times. I'm very grateful that she's athletic and has great health.

Good morning! Kind of a dull dreary morning here, but that cannot overcome the warmth and sunshine of the coffee cart! As we go through Life's big and little challenges, deal with positive tests and celebrate the beginnings of new life, may we fine support around this room. Hot beverages are ready! Help yourself.

@GiancarloZ, congratulations and best wishes for your wife's pregnancy! I hope all goes well.

And I hope you both manage to shake this bug. I know one lady on another board took months to get her taste back so hopefully it goes better for you.

Having almost completely lost my sense of smell a few years ago (unrelated to COVID, but to a steroid nasal spray), and it's never really come back properly, I have bad news and better news. Food and coffee just don't taste like they used to. The better news is that this is a pretty effective weight loss plan. You don't eat as much when there's not much flavour...

I've had various ones, never experienced that. Guess I'm lucky.
It's funny too I find with things I don't do well with, I can smell easily, even when congested.

Maybe I'm overly harsh, but I sometimes wish the COVIdiots would lose their sense of smell for a few months. Maybe then they would back off on the 'it's no big deal'. Not the worst symptom, but not really pleasant either, especially if it's more than just short term.
