Room For All

Looking at my emerging garden, this is the year that I will be ruthless about the expletive-deleted periwinkle. However, lots of crocuses, in yellow, purple, lavender, white. The variegated stonecrop is starting to liven up. The flax is greening up. The perennial geraniums are starting to perk.

And my favorite gardening buddy at the church and I decided that we'd try a perennial sale this year again. Screw the usually accompanying garage sale. But we both have enough crap to dig up, and there are others who contribute.

Good morning, all! As we continue to talk about allergies and sensitivities, basement salad gardens and landscaping squirrels, let us join for a few relaxing moments around the coffee cart, where the coffee is perked and the water for tea is boiling. Enjoy. May all crankiness and sleepiness be smoothed away.

@Redbaron - I do love the wonderful way you weave all our stories together - feeling heard is such a gift of attention you give freely to all of us. Thank you.

We had a wonderful 8.4 km hike with friends today. The trail is known as the Abyss and is lovely.

This is the actual abyss. View attachment 4775

Reminds me of a trail in Fundy National Park, NB. I haven’t been there again in years, but they had this trail at the coastline that was , I believe, called “ the devil’s half acre”(?) and it had all those cracks and bumps in the landscape because as it was explained, the coast there is breaking off in pieces and falling slowly into the ocean and the whole landscape is shifting so much that they had to constantly fixing the trail’s walkways and bridges.

Good morning all. Our April fools joke is that w are getting some snow. Yikes. Don’t really expect Mother Nature to play jokes. But I think it’s our last blast of winter

Good morning, all! For signs of spring even in winter's last gasp, for natural wonders that inspire interest and awe, for other topics and events, we give thanks. As we gather this Thursday, on the verge of the holiday weekend, let us find camaraderie at this table, as well as tea, coffee and other beverages.

Sigh, more lockdown. More on-line worship, holiday dinner without the family. I'm not liking this April Fool's Day.

Welcome to my world Nancy - have been in lockdown here since mid November ... and have the long shaggy hair to prove it! A year ago none of us would have imagined we'd be in this position. Now, I hope a year from now we won't be. Stay safe & be well. Clean hands, clear mind, open heart.

Flurries here, possible local amounts of 2cm. Was sunny when I got up, though. Had a hawk join me for breakfast (no, I did not accept a piece of their robin and they were not into cereal with fruit and nuts). Will post pics in the bird thread later.

How deep was it? In the ocean they go down for huge distances

It's deep but not endless. Here's an article from when a puppy fell down into it recently (couldn't link today)

Yes - leash up your dogs and young children, and others with eyes glued to their cell-phones! We have a few places a bit like this on the Niagara Escarpment - so interesting!

I haven't seen people on their phones there. There's quite a climb to that spot. There's other hazards like tree roots and rocks to get you if you're not watching.

That dog owner should get a few points on his dog licence.

April 1 st strated for me with my 90 year old neighbour calling me at 7 “ to come and check her heart out”. She has A-fib and I am not a nurse, so I usually have her call the ambulance, which came within minutes with sirens and all. But, it wasn’t quite that bad. She was back home when I got home from work. Daughter told me that they got scared when they got here and the car was gone. Hubby had forgotten that he was supposed to wait and was circling the hospital. He really should not be driving anymore.....
