That was a bit of a waste of time. I really got no information, other than if things go well I will probably be staying overnight just to be safe. There's also the chance I will be waking up in ICU, although he had no idea what kind of chance there is.

They didn't even want contact information for my doctors yet.

Good news is I can put this to the back of my mind, it will probably be a minimum of 6 months until anything happens. Bad news is I googled trying to find out what precautions will probably be taken. I came across journal articles of patients who died due to wisdom teeth extraction and a law suit. The law suit made me feel a bit better, someone with HAE went in for a consult and the doctor ended up doing the surgery that day instead, and the guy died the next morning from throat swelling, but no preventative meds were used.

Hooray - I have the next two weeks off work. Vacation time is soon. During the first week - I'll be working on a couple of papers for seminary. During the second week - I'm taking a class in children's ministry. Ah well - still - a vacation is sweet.

Chemgal - I don't know if it is any consulation for you (different operation, different health problems) but a friend of mine was putting off having a hip replacement despite pain and increasing disability. His doctors thought his bad heart couldn't handle the anesthetic. But I heard yesterday that he had the operation and that he is doing well.

Thanks Seeler. I think the precautions will make this ok. Some of my fear was reading about how a sore throat is normal, etc. How do I determine what's normal, and what I need to treat. Staying in the hospital isn't fun, but I should be safe there. I'm really glad I had a doctor tell me to not do it unless they were bothering me years ago, as precautions wouldn't have occurred because we didn't know. Some of the better meds also weren't available then.

I'll probably still worry, but I can put that off for now :)

Felt like I got some things accomplished yesterday-canoe trailer insurance renewed for another year, told insurance son had moved out and saved $100 on car insurance, mailed cheque for other canoe trip-boat damage deposit, mailed tree pruning bill
and at work did a couple of things including deleting about 3000 emails. Anyone else find it hard to empty out their mailbox?

No! I love emptying out my inbox and folders. Sometimes it means that things get lost that I could have/should have kept... but I'd rather not have so much to look at when I open up at the beginning of the day. Start fresh!

I used to be really good about not having unread messages. I didn't care if my inbox was full, as long as the messages were all read. Around February, when I had a virus I got a bit behind. I caught up again, but I let it happen a few more times. Now I have over 2000 unread emails. They go back to mid April, around the time I started shooting up.

I don't know if this is just a symptom of being frustrated and down at times, or just a shift or priorities or what. I am slightly concerned I may have missed something semi-important (I do go through the subjects and open the ones I think should be seen), because it's hard to remember where I left off last time. I just don't care enough to actually go through them all though. I think it's partially an energy issues - when I'm tired I don't feel like doing it and when I have energy there are things that I would rather do, or need to get caught up on. This isn't my first time with low energy though, and I've never been like this with email.

Good afternoon everyone!

Sitting down in my gazebo (surprised my wireless internet works down here), by the lake with a little outdoor fire burning . . . trying to clean up some yard stuff and old wood laying around. Daughter here now for the week from town, and son arriving from out of town tomorrow. Fridge is full, and I am starting to get excited.

Got lots of errands done today . . .

Neighbours gone today :(. Wish them well in their new home and community. Didn't realize how sad I would feel last night and today - took me by surprise. New neighbours don't get here til next week.

How is everyone doing today? The weekend is about to start . . . any exciting plans? We know Pinga has exciting plans coming up? Any exciting July 1 plans for anyone? I put out my new Canadian flags both here and at my house in town.

Have a great afternoon and evening everyone!

Yeah, it would've been AWESOME to meet the guy!

There are even some Bappytists around these parts...

Thanks Inanna. I'm actually a quiet - sensitive type. I have difficulty being social in large group settings. For that reason - I'd avoid the Vancouver WC2 meetup. I'm certainly open to meeting my WC2 friends - in groups no larger than 7 at a time please.

Chemguy's Dad will be here this weekend. If his Mom comes too, I probably won't be online much. If it's just his Dad, they have a project planned so I might have a bit of time to myself.

Chemgal-even if your MIL visits-given your health-take the down time you need! a Nap, a rest, some quiet time to yourself -Just excuse yourself perhaps even say "I'm not feeling well I need to rest". In hindsight I catered a lot to my MIL at my own expense. Now older and wiser I wouldn't let her wants trump my needs.

Visiting with my MIL will be easier than my Mom :) The cleanliness expectation is very different.
She has health issues too and usually takes a nap. If she comes, my plans with her are minimal. Sit, talk, show her the house, tease the guys a bit and drink some wine. I'm hoping we can sit outside for a while, although the forecast says thunderstorms. Chemguy is going to BBQ, so there isn't even much I need to do for dinner. I was planning on making guacamole tonight, but the avocados aren't ripe enough, so that's my big plan for tomorrow :)

Man, work and being at church must be trying for you

Work and church (and these days church is becoming work) are both things that I enjoy. I can act outside of my preferences - put on my extrovert hat as it were. Afterward I need some time to rest - but that's okay too. It helps that the churches I serve at are both small churches -- and that at work - I basically serve the same customers every day.

Had a lovely day with myst yesterday. Though I was humorous in my sleep deprivation, she was gracious and totally spoiled me as we drove to beaches, park and granville, then spent time enjoying chatting with her family and having a delicious dinner.

It was pouring in Vancouver this morning and after a bit of a mix up, the sun is shining and lovely as I approach the ferry terminal

Enjoy to the fullest, Pinga! Keep safe!

Son and girlfriend arrive tonight . . . doing a few last minute items that need to be done before company arrives - bed to make, floor to clean, putting away stuff I normally leave laying around.

Hope the weather is nice - maybe some fishing, some boating, a little campfire . . . can hardly wait.

A family supper tomorrow night is planned - a barbeque.

And a birthday cake, as we will celebrate two birthdays that took place in June.

If today is a great day for you, smiles will be easy. If not so, good, try smiling, once or twice throughout the day, even if you don't feel like it . . . there is a chance it will give you a tiny pick-me-up. :) - not virtually though, you have do it for real, on your face.

Quiet, slight hot weekend here. Kayaking this afternoon (at least for Little M, I usually stay on shore since I'm rather nervous around boats), some cleaning and yard work. Not much happenin', in other words.
