I feel very privileged to meet our dear CH twice, under rather different circumstances, in the space of two weeks.

On the way out west with my son, N, to take him back to his home, we met up with CH at her flat, left our stuff to charge up, had a shower or two, and re-packed some bags, then went out to an early supper with her in a restaurant attached to her extended "unit". She really enjoyed hanging out with my son. He is enormously charming at times, and very attractive in tall, lean, long haired way, and they both loved to talk with each other. We continued on that day, cheered by our meeting with her.

More than a week later, on my way home, I stopped at her place for the night after a long day which had started (driving-wise) later because I'd been to YJNK's 'home church' in Calgary for a service to start the day. Arrived there after 8 p.m. and we got to have a really nice intimate convo over a couple of hours before bedtime came (too early). I brought with me @Tabitha's gift from India, in which she delighted! She saw me off bright and early the next morning all charged up with conversation, coffee, a lovely muffin.

She was so into Relationship. I was so drawn to her after our two meetings. I miss her.

Went to a talk about evolution yesterday. Very interesting.
Here a question:
How much of our genes do we have in common with a banana?
2%?
15%?
60%?
99%?

Answer: 60%
Feeling a little bit yellow behind your ear?

Stopped by my son on the way back, who had a whole lot of guys hanging out in his garage while he was fixing their cars. Asked them the above question. People were surprised about the percentage. One guy asked the other- “do you think you taste like a banana?” Answers a third guy quietly “ no, he doesn’t”, which made my son’s girlfriend burst out into laughter and me saying “ I take it you are his partner, nice to meet you”.

Wonder how much genetic material we might have in common with the coffee bean, or with the tea leaf.... Anyway, as we ponder that question, let us sip warming beverages. Come and get it!

Glad you slipped that in ... under the circumstantial monkeying around ... more of that which is commonly ... unknown!

Is common hue Mus in bad taste for those that support innocence and ignorance about the great expansion? Thus ABBA'd hue Moors ...

All about socialization ... exiting ectoplasm? Dunne ... gone ...

It is actually amazing how much of the genome goes back far enough that differences that seem huge are actually the result of a fairly small amount of genetic material.

Not sure how much genetic material I have in common with them, but with the amount of tea I drink some days, there may be some chemistry in common.

Cranberry pecan sounds yummy. * Grabs a slice *

So, spent today in court. As a prospective juror, not as the defendant. God, our jury selection system is brutally inefficient. I could see a couple improvements just from one day in that system.

Anyhow, I didn't get picked, so I am through with that system for at least three years.

@Mrs.Anteater, thinking of you while you make decisions about visiting your mom, etc. It is the very hardest thing about emigration - the distance from your family when crisis strikes. My dear cousin Jo (quite removed, but really close to my fav cuz's fam) lost her Mom last week. My favourite uncle was in hospital trying to get at-home care and meds straightened out (he's almost 90 now, still in the council house in which he was born) over the holidays. It's hard not being able to help, give them hugs, etc.

Today was a busy-ish day. I had bloodwork this morning, then we did some errands. My phone rang while we were in the grocery store. My neutrophils are low. I've been taking this new drug for two weeks and have six more doses, then 7 days off. I get more bloodwork on Tuesday. It will be interesting to see how my numbers are then. I guess that explains why I've been tired these last few days. It also means my immune system has probably been affected so I need to keep washing my hands and taking precautions so I don't get sick. Alas.

Got note from my brother that my mother‘s health is declining more. She has been in the hospital after having a blood pressure of 200, which they now can’t get lower than 170. It sounds like she is very weak and is planning her last days, with the risk of stroke looming over her head. Family meeting by skype will happen the next couple of days.

Vibes, Mrs. Anteater. My wife went through much the same with her parents in China in 2018. Keeping in touch with her siblings by WeChat (Chinese social media and chat app), debating when to go, and so on.

Tuesday as in today? Or next week? If you have ANY signs of even a slight fever, go right to the hospital ... low neutrophils are not to be taken lightly, that's for sure. But you probably already know that!

Sorry, next week, the 4th. I became quite familiar with neutrophils when I was on chemo and did have two visits to the hospital because of fever. One of those was on my birthday. Happy birthday to me. :cautious: I don't have to take my temperature as often as when I was on chemo. I do still need to check it occasionally. I'll probably do it once a week unless I have reason to be concerned.

I have to make the decision to fly to Germany or not these days. Junior could only come along if we go before the end of February. I am worried about having two stop overs in major airports, either Toronto or Montreal and Frankfurt, because of the corona virus. I remember saying when the airplane was shot down in Iran, that people should have known not to fly into a war situation. I feel like I am in a similar spot.
