Really Mother Nature? 7 degrees here this morning!! It's JUNE for heaven's sake!! And windy too - so probably a wind chill. I haven't ventured outside yet, but my mate said his morning walk was positively frigid!!

Yeah, I had to put the furnace on for a bit when I got up and the heat in my car. Definitely more May than June, I would say.

we did the furnace back on thing too this morning ... sigh. I guess it's going to be another of those years when we go straight from furnace to air conditioning with no moderate weather in between.

Wow @Kimmio Laughterlove that's a scary situation. I'm glad you're okay. I wouldn't use the fact that he was drunk as an excuse for his behaviour. It certainly didn't help though.

@PilgrimsProgress have a great conference. I've done the walk into the glass door stunt too. I agree, doors should not be that clean, especially when they are going to close them while you aren't looking and they were open a second ago. :cautious:

I am waiting for the decongestant to kick in. I took one last night so got a better sleep than the night before. I went to the hospital last night because my temp hit 38. I waa checked over and there is no sign of the dangerous situation with low neutrafils. The doctor told me to monitor the temperature and take Tylenol. If it doesn't go down by today I can go back and get retested. It will be a lazy day here today.

Is that beverage and goody cart nearby? Ah, I see it. I'll have a big cup of hot tea in this lovely china mug. Cheers.

I did it a mall store once. Looked it was open front but was actually glass. That mall (Argyle) is now gone, converted into a plaza of big box stores plus a No Frills and a Walmart.

I turned the AC for the first time this year on Saturday and turned the heat on for a bit this morning! Crazy weather

We haven't had to hit the AC yet but, yeah, May was all over the map. Hope June is more normal but temp is definitely below normal today.

I am not turning the furnace on again. Daughter has an electric blanket, boarder has a little heater. It's actually good potting weather; damp and drizzly would be better, but it's not too hot anyway. However, there's a suggestion of a frost warning tonight, which is a BIT MUCH.

@PilgrimsProgress, colour me green with envy. Cobb is one of my theology heroes...

Tripp's a blast, at least on his podcasts. Tends to ramble but maybe he reigns that in when he's in a more academic setting. He's friends with most of the Claremont crowd, including Cobb, from when he did his doctorate there (Philip Clayton was his supervisor) and I think just about all of them have guested on HBC at some point.

What are you using for a decongestant? Most can actually interfere with sleep, I take the claritin allergy & sinus (only ever see it as a brand name) with the pseudoephedrine during the day because of it and the antihistamine only options at night.

Weird. A drunk young man accosted me a little while ago - put his arm around my waste, kissed my cheek (said "sorry am I being that annoying slobbering guy?" I said "yes and I have to go now" which appeared to make him angsty - then, as he was leaning his hip against my arm - insisted that I accept $20 from him. We had just been chatting (he told me he survived multiple injuries) as I walked past but then he started telling me I'm beautiful, he's born again and the Lord wants him to help people and that he would totally call me his girlfriend if I was interested. He had me cornered so I had to take his money. At one point I handed back but he dropped it, it started to blow away. He went to pick it up and ran back and again was insisting I take it, pushing it at me - irritated that I said I didn't want it. Something about him being a man, and the bible. I tried about 5 times to tell him I didn't want his money. I ducked into a nearby cafe, a block up the road from where I was (he didn't follow me) and I think I'm going to take a cab home. I don't know what else to do. I honestly don't think he would've behaved that way, if he were sober, and he's going to feel stupid, and broke, by tomorrow. I don't want to report it.

:)
That's particularly odd behaviour, I'm glad you were able to loose him with the cafe and were ok. Uncomfortable and a bit scary :(

@ChemGal My 80 year old step dad said “How old was he? Early 30’s, you said?” I said, yes he mentioned he was 33. And my step dad said, “Well on the bright side you could take it as a compliment.Oh, well, you got $20 just look on the bright side.” ...yeah, thanks but no thanks. My mother said the cops wouldn’t have done anything anyway, if I didn’t call them right away - and said get over it and not to dwell on it. I already decided to do that anyway because I (decided to) think he was a lonely guy who got too drunk who is probably not normally a creep. I think that because he was telling me how nobody talks to anybody anymore, people don’t care about people...and I agreed with him. The problem with agreeing with him - and I looked him in the eye and spoke to him respectfully - was that he developed a (drunken) insta-crush and then got pushy. It’s a fine line between being kind and approachable, and vulnerable...but in that situation I just thought, “Okay, he’s drunk. It’s easier to tolerate the breaking of personal boundaries, ie. hip on arm, hand on lower back and kiss on the cheek - than it will be if he loses his temper and becomes more aggressive. Try to politely get away.” A couple passed by and was looking at us, sensing something “off”but he hadn’t touched me yet. If it had gotten worse I would’ve made noise about it.

I really admire your generous spirit and willingness to offer him benefit of the doubt. I can attest it's hard to find that balance of kindness and personal boundaries. Still working on that. Betcha he does this all the time. Calling the police unless you feel he poses a threat is IMO useless anyway in that it doesn't make anything better & possibly worse for everyone (unless there's a clear threat).

I've got Reactin here. I slept well last night. Feeling like I was going to suffocate the night before was more of an interference.

I'm being lazy today. I hope this clears soon. I'm aware though that my immune system is not at its best right now.

My temperature seems better at least. That is a concern if it continues.

I agree. It could've ended up worse by calling the police over that. I do think the guy needs friends and some education on how (not) to behave with women. I don't think he needs to deal with criminal charges. He was someone who'd apparently been through a lot with physical injuries (that he took a year and a half to recover from but felt he could relate because he had overcome mobility challenges -for which he thanked god he made it through) - and was having a rough day, it seemed. And it would be extra stress for me too, to take that on. Not worth it.

Some men can be pretty clueless about how it feels to be approached in such a manner. :cautious:

If you're using the complete, taking that earlier in the day might mean a better sleep! That has pseudoephidrine too. Stick to the antihistamine only before bed. Or maybe it just doesn't interfere with your sleep?
I know for me it isn't a huge effect sleeping-wise but still enough where I stick to decongestants day only most of the time.
