Yes it gets above 40 here. And I also say when we lived in Inuvik it was often the hotspot in Canada (in part because the sun didn't set and it didn't cool off..
It is 35 by my thermometer in the shade right now. and it is June. It will get hotter in July and Aug.
Tabatha, thank you for not referring to Ontario as the East. We in the Maritimes are the East.
We've had beautiful weather the last few days – temperatures up to the midteens, occasionally reaching 20, with sunshine after a long cold wet spring. Seelerman and I have been outdoors working in the yard – I'm trying to clean up the perennial beds which is a big job because I've neglected them. We are planting half dozen tomato plants in pots scattered in sunny spots around the house. (We have a lot of trees, a lot of shade.)
Beautiful weather now, but I'm afraid of the hot dry summer ahead. I really don't do good in hot weather.
