We had math club. We didn't practice the exams that I am aware, but, we did do interschool competitions. Loved them. I was the odd person out being female. Most were guys. Most were geeks. I loved the logic puzzles.

Huh, my school population was huge, but didn't have anything like that. Wasn't aware of anything similar at other schools either.

I am baking tonight, so setting out some muffins.

There are the variety to choose from.

For those that may require some high fibre, these are tasty, but wow, are they loaded with fiber - banana, bran, and prune muffins Banana, Bran And Prune Muffins Recipe - Genius Kitchen

For those looking for classic; how about a raisin bran; Learn a Basic, Quick Bran Muffin Recipe (With Raisins)
For the young at heart, how about a chocolate chip Chocolate Chip Muffins With a Hint of Vanilla
For those that like a delicate flavour, try the date muffins: Sweet Date and Walnut Muffins With a Hint of Orange
For those wanting something a bit more sweet; how about sour cream and lemon: Moist and Delicious Sour Cream Lemon Muffins

That's all, the pumpkin-seed cranberry will have to wait for another time, the frozen cranberries that I had, I felt had been in the freezer too long.

I'll try one of those recipes. I'm not very good at baking, but it's something that helps me to feel better.
Had some pancakes for breakfast today and the process of making them was very relaxing.

I'm lazily transiting through my day ... thinking, checking, organizing a bit, putting stuff away, hemmed some pants, mended a glove, starting to pack for a visit to our daughter - leaving before dawn on Monday & home Friday evening. Mate returned from a few days up north - so laundry will be started soon. Want to knit the thumb on a mitten this evening - to finish a pair I'd like to take with me on Monday. Church tomorrow - first service of "New Church" with a little brunch reception following to seek input on a new name - which should be interesting. Now to make sure I get up early enough to get to the 9:02 contemporary service which I think I will prefer ... except for the getting up early part. So kinda quiet, which is fine.

Getting better from episodes of anxiety, but still having problems to deal with uncertainty.
These days I've been struggling with my sense of call. Am I really called to be a minister? Will I be able to go to seminary being married and wanting to have kids soon?
UCCan summer MDiv at ATS with paid accountable appointment would work greatly for me, but if I return to Brazil there's no counterpart of the UCCan and be admissed in my home denomination as a minister would take 5 years.
While being ordained in the ELCIC can take very long and I'd have to work, go to seminary part time and probably with no scholarship.
I have been praying to God show me the way, but I think anxiety has been blocking the the vision.

Will I be able to go to seminary being married and wanting to have kids soon?

Will pray for your sense of call GZ. Just a couple of thoughts...

1.) Not everyone who's called to seminary is called to become a vocational religious leader.

2.) About 30% of my seminary cohort were young parents with little kids. About 80% of us were married folk.

Thank you very much, Jae!

It's been a busy weekend. Friday, I stayed up baking a bunch of muffins. Probably too late, but, I started too late, just one of those days where everything seemed to back up.
Saturday was an all day event at the retreat centre, which went well, and I was able to reconnect with many folks.
Sunday, today, I drove to the US. I realized about 30 min into the trip, that I had forgotten paperwork that is required as evidence should i be challenged at the border. Dang. Do I risk driving to the border, or turn around and get it. Turned around, so by the time I got going, i had lost over an hour. Of course, I didn't need it at teh border, sigh.
Made for a long day, now relaxing in the hotel.

I never went to a retreat. It seems like I could use one right now.
Also wanting to dig into baking.

Today we travelled to BC - tried that new discount airline SWOOP - it was great! We flew out of the much smaller Hamilton airport - it's definitely a basic space - maybe now with all the SWOOP traffic through there they will upgrade it a bit. We got some free coffee & muffin tho at the departure gate as today was the airline's first flight to Cancun. It was a very early start to the day for us - up about 4:15am! The flight was excellent, and the air was very clear as we crossed the mountains - so much majesty to admire. The sun was shining as we landed in BC at Abbotsford airport. Easy drive up to Squamish where we will for a few days. It's like SPRING here! Warm front & clear - beautiful for at least tomorrow too. Looking forward to celebrating our daughter's birthday with her tomorrow - 35!! Hard to imagine.
