Congratulations @Pinga. Which child is the parent? Seems like yesterday they were running around the church basement at coffee time, and spinning around the posts!

Fun day at work tomorrow. One of my team is getting hitched and tomorrow is the last day we're both in before the wedding, so the controller and I organized a bit of a party at lunchtime. I've met his fiancee a few times and they're a lovely young couple. Almost wish I could be at the wedding to see them in their finery.

A good time was had. Here's what I read after presenting him with the card and gift from the office:

Neil Gaiman's Journal: Wedding thoughts: All I know about love

Pinga, there is nothing like the joy of the first grandchild. It renews your faith in the future. Hope of the world.
My grandchildren are 20 and 14 now. I couldn't love them more.
Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!

*yawn* Nothing to get me out of my still-recovering smokey air and basically laying around all day because of it like my nephews. The usual carer was busy so I was babysitting. Keeping up with those 2 was definitely hard. I was flipping the youngest upside down a fair bit to keep him happy, he's teething so would go from laughing like normal to crying suddenly, but flipping him around on the couch would bring the laughs back. The older one of course wanted his turn too. He's a skinny kid but my arms fatigued fast! Came home, checked for work email. Got some data that's so old it appears to be done on typewriter. Thought I responded to the request at least - from such old testing there was uncertainty about what I could/couldn't do with it so sent a few lines about what would be lacking but I could still do a report. Fell asleep pretty much immediately after that. Woke up to see I had an email draft saved - oops haha, I missed hitting 'send'. Early bedtime with some work to do tomorrow, only a few hours this time

I get the slow recovery from the smoke. My fatigue goes way up and I don't usually have fatigue! Did no exercise yesterday but did walk an hour today. I did my banking on foot and took the scenic way home.

Yup - two little kids can definitely tire us out in a big hurry! Sounds like you had a good day with them ChemGal - and I'm sure your sister appreciated your willingness to help.

Ha Ha, Tabitha! I,m sitting here at 6:20 EDT and reading 'getting ready for work Tues' and wondering how early she got up this morning? How long does it take her to get readdy for work?

Yesterday was 1 September, a beautiful day here in the East – temperatures in the low 20s, blue skies, and humidity below 50. We managed to get through the heat of July and August. Although I know there will be warm days in September they will not be as hot or as frequent. I'm looking forward to the cooler weather.

I like to see September come round. In many ways it is starting again – the end of holidays and vacation trips, the start of school for grandson, and granddaughter back to the University, organizing the bowling league, looking forward to square dancing, getting back to worshiping in our own church (we've shared with another congregation through the summer and at their church through August), and getting involved in church activities.
