Friday it is supposed to be sunny and cool so that's my revised plan (working and rain predicted Tues and Thurs). Have to go see my sister Wednesday afternoon - she's been diagnosed with acute bursitis of the hip, and delayed starting her bus-driving job by a week, so promised her a visit and some groceries (she lives largely by herself an hour north of me). Poor woman seems to have inherited both of my parents' joint issues in spades.

When it's this hot, even the lawns get lazy ... not growing too fast. So I imagine you can wait a bit!

Actually, mine's been growing like crazy. Little M cut it Thursday and it's already getting long again. I think the warm, wet weather has actually been stimulating it.

Whett ... the immaterial stimulant ... in Daies of yore the foundation of soul ... a' float?
Then there's that chap driving the Miss Daie ... creates a cloud ...

The fact is was one of the most beautiful drives in Canada (Hinton, AB to Kelowna) made it lovely.

Ottawa to London ... not so much. Unless you take a side tour along the Thousand Islands Parkway it alternates between dull and urban ugly. A few bright spots, but not many. Now, we drove the Gatineau Parkway through Gatineau Park on Sunday, and that's a nice drive. A bit reminiscent of the Appalachians which kind of makes sense given that the Gatineau Hills are part of the same chain of mountain ranges along the Eastern side of North America as the Appalachians, Ozarks, etc.

Yup - Hinton to Kelowna is a nice drive. My favourite though is highway 40 that takes you over the Highwood Pass - the highest road pass in the country. Several of the views along the way remind me of Bonanza. This road is closed during the winter.

It's not as bad if you wander off onto Hwy 2 occasionally...

When it is already a 6-7 hour drive, 7-8 with breaks, as it is for us Londoners, wandering off onto side highways isn't happening unless the trip is planned as a sightseeing excursion.

Since I just moved my Daughter, her boyfriend and my Grandson into our place (Steven has a full-time job here in St. John's which he starts tomorrow), I'd take London to Ottawa over Thorold, ON to Edmunston, NB any day. Sure A-30 takes you around Montreal which is a big hassle saver. A-20 from St. Julie, PQ to Riviere Du Loup, PQ is a pretty boring drive made exciting by very narrow lanes through construction areas and Quebecois Dirvers who have no working knowledge of safe stopping distance.

That was about a 12 hour trip without stopping for gas or food or personal relief. Edmusnton, NB to North Sydney, NS was a shorter drive and the final day of driving Channel Port-Aux-Basques, NL to Logy Bay, NL was shorter yet but still clocked in at roughly 9 hours of driving.

PQ hurries as similar to Mosaic Rushes ... something to lay out the myth before the author forgets rising above the black pool ... that warm, soft whet place where there are few worries that are in the conscience ... Ma Mere? The protected essence ... Maria as it flows in the mensa sense ... mother of mind ... there's dynamic ergo and then stuff to stop and conjure ... up! Abstract residues ... cryptic word hides much ... god projected it ... streaks --- Ray-St Evens ... dark and twilight zones grey isles? Much covered ...
