Upper Eire is a sacred communicator, consider the radio controlled by Nazis ... or so they thought ... then there's that novle representation; Late Night on Air ... any body read it? The stuff arising in the silence ... as nebulous images ... smoke & MIR?

As you fall off the edge of consciousness ... tha alternate arrives ... often with 4 O'clock in the Morning ... the darkest hour of yore ... she keeps coming back ... as an avatar?

Makes a mark where once was a washout ...

Sorry, luce, I don’t have a clue how you bring wildfires and Nazis together.
 
So this morning, I went from that headspace of sleepy dozy, up but not dressed, not had my first coffee, in the washroom to that is way too loud for my tinkles to make that sound!
Realize it is the fire alarm.
Now the fire alaram is the alarm system for a hotel. Picture very loud. Picture you can't think as it is so loud. Everyone is to leave room and head for their gathering space
Quickly go to check where the alarm is being set off. -- Kitchen area for guests
Quickly go there, to see the women trying to fan the smoke detector. ---
confirm no fire
quickly go back to turn off the fire alarm
then to give everyone that had left the building the "all clear"

good thing it was almost breakfast time for the other groups too.

so, now sitting , relaxing enjoying a coffee. breakfast is done.
birds are squacking outside. people are fed. tai-chi is running. meeting is started.

found "dots" for one of the groups that is doing a planning exercise.
fixed a window last night that wouldn't open.
advised countless people that the water is good to drink
and, so on.

I love this creative problem solving of physical and human things.
It is so much different than my job in terms of immediacy and action.
 
It's funny...as we are in the room, we image how this room is (or at least I do). When @Kimmio did her work, she didn't have a hope of meeting all of our expectations, no matter how beautiful or perfect she made it.

it's a bit like reading a book, and imagining the character. I was sooo disappointed in the choice of Tom Cruise for the Jack Reacher movies. Not at all what I imagined in my head. Idris Elba would have been closer to my imagination.

I wonder how many other places we need to adjust our expectations to someone else's idea of perfection.
Does that make sense?

Your way of saying you don’t like it or it wasn’t your taste, or expectation. Got it.

It was just “pretend”.

None of those designs are my idea of perfection. I don’t have one...I like ambiance and lots of places, many different styles, are nice enough. Just trying to make things that are good enough, with some character - with the tools I have. If anything, in real life, I am most at home in “shabby chic”, not brand new. I don’t want everything too perfect because that is impossible to maintain. I would not want a white kitchen or white carpets, by choice, in real life...for example. I have had a white kitchen and it was a pain to keep that way.

If we were all to meet and hang out...a friendly, homey, environment would be most important.

@Kimmio, no not at all. I am just aware, as we said "shakes" versus "bricks, for example. Please don't take offense, there was non intended. You are doing a great job.

Same as i expect a dog, or a cat, or martini, or scotch, or......we each have our own imaginations.

It was more as i reflected on how we respond, that we can end up whittling down, or maybe things not good, by adjusting someone else's vision.

You are doing fabulous, and i would love to hang in any of those rooms!
 
Air quality reading is a 2. Really glad as there's a work social event at our community lake. Chemguy and I are the ones with a booking, there's only one other who lives in the community to bring others in. If it was moderate I would have shown up to help get people in and left. Had it been bad probably would have cancelled altogether.

Cool day but it means more people as some cancelled camping trips.
 
Pinga, Kimmio, and others: I'll show you a tour of the room.
It is a large room with a large picture window at the centre front overlooking a natural lawn and waterfront. At the back of the room that the feature is a large stone fireplace. Facing the fireplace is a large comfortable leather couch, and several side chairs in a conversational grouping. This is my favourite spot when I first arrived in the morning get the fire started and curl up in a corner of the couch to watch the flames and welcome other early arrivals.
On the other side of the room facing out the window is another's conversational grouping of chairs and side tables. This is a good place to watch the sunrise, hummingbirds at the feeders, and if you are lucky see a deer daintily picking its way across the lawn or an eagle swooping for a fish.
At one end of the room there is a small well-equipped kitchen with a partial partition at the counter through which to serve food. Several roundtables with six or eight chairs each are available for sitdown meals. There are also folding side tables that can be set up anywhere.
At the other end of the room there is a table set up with a puzzle, and several card tables for table games. There are also shelves of books and magazines. And the basket of Afghans were those needing warmth or comfort.
If any of us bring our dog with us there is a cupboard with a couple of dog mats and water dishes. I think we should ask Mrs.anteater to set up an indoor outdoor multilevel play area for the resident cat and any cats that visitors might want to bring with them.(Of course, the room is a filtration system that filters out any allergens from the dog or cat or open fire.)
I don't have pictures of but if anyone would like to post some I would be glad to see them. And also hear your ideas about the room.

Honestly, I was blueberry picking yesterday and kept thinking, if that was the sun or the moon. Can’t say I am enjoying this eerie condition, as it is just a hint of what is still to come.

(Kidding. Scientists, serious ones at least, aren't actually expecting it to go in our lifetime. It could, but the probability is apparently not high.)

But then, there have always been wildfires. Imagine how bad they got before there were planes to drop water on them, or before firefighters could even get to the small ones quickly - couldn't very well, with horses and buggies. I bet some were even started by boy scouts.

To ancient people...that's probably what "blood moons" etc. referred to.

Actually they are saying they have been particularly bad lately because on top of the dry conditions, the fire controls that have been used means that the old stuff hasn't burned up, so these are much bigger than if fires were just allowed to burn on a regular basis.
