Going for ice cream to the sea cone with my friend tomorrow and the theater ( birthday gift from a friend) at night.Ahhh ... it's Friday again!! And a long weekend ... I've put a nice big bouquet of red & white flowers on the table, hung the flag outside, and added a bowl of fresh strawberries to the room - Canada Day is coming. We're starting into quite a heatwave here in southern Ontario - so it must be July!
What are people up to for the weekend? We've got some friends coming Sunday for our big Canada Day parade, and then lunch. We'll probably walk down to the park by the river for the fireworks display on Sunday night - it's usually excellent!
Glad I have some friends left. Talking to my neighbours, who have survived the majority of their friends and family ( at 87), I was wondering yesterday, what it would be like. Have decided not to get into the habit of reading the orbits. It still seems morbid to me.oh, mrs. anteater. sorry to hear of your loss

hear hearPeople surprise as often. It mostly happens when they prove they aren't just like we assumed them to be. Someone who is a bit shy about social events may be judged to be a snob (for example). I find it a struggle to NOT slap a mental label on someone based on my own first impression.
they both lived in an area that is known as a Bible belt
and i've noticed how various subcultures can have and are putting down or demonizing each other *facepalm*I always wonder how more "fringe" subcultures like furries function in an environment like that. We hear about the problems of LGBTQ in Bible Belt areas, but rarely about other, more "out there", identities and subcultures. Glad it worked out for those two in the end and that the church guy was apparently pretty open-minded.
