Just a dusting here so far but they are calling for a chance of flurries for most of the next few days so we should see more. Nothing that should cause too many problems. I'm more concerned about Central Ontario where my aunt lives since they have to drive down from Haliburton County to come to Dad's memorial.

Thanks Beloved, I got an extra hour in late this morning. I think I've got the right level for this exercise class - my 3rd one, first time too much, 2nd time a little too easy. I'm pretty worn out today though, probably because I really need more sleep and I used up most of my energy yesterday. I was thinking of shopping for a dress for a Christmas party, but with the cold and tiredness hanging out here and maybe getting a nap sounds much more appealing.

That's too bad, ChemGal. Does a cup of hot milk or hot cocoa help you drift back to sleep. I used to love that and found it soothing.

I'm caffeine sensitive when it comes to sleep, I had a hot chocolate with a group the night I was up the latest. Milk would cause GI issues.

Today I was off work, so we went to the AGO & saw special exhibits by Alex Colville, Michaelangelo, and Canadian First Nations artists of the Great Lakes region. I loved the Colville exhibit! See if you recognize this painting (it was also made into a stamp) ... and I'll tell you some trivia.

The plaque above the door indicates it is United Church of Canada church, Hastings, Nova Scotia. :-) It's easily read on the original work (this reproduction really doesn't do it justice - but they seldom do.)
The painting was done in 1964, following the death of JKF. The black horse is meant to be that of JFK, which was led behind his coffin, in the funeral procession.

Overactive bladder. Don't drink after supper/ Look what I'm missing. hahahahahaha
I have the opposite problem, so no issues with drinking in the evening. I do drink a fair bit of tea. I have sleepy time around, I find it doesn't help any more than any other caffeine free hot drink.

I'm drinking tea as I play here. Love the picture Carolla, hoping you are getting some sleep chemgal. and have a great Sat. all.

Been sipping tea myself (some Chinese green that Mrs. M. picked up back home).

Listened to some of Tristan and Isolde on Saturday Afternoon at the Opera and teared up. For once it wasn't the opera that was to blame. It was remembering that listening to SAO with Dad is what got me into opera in the first place.

That sounds like an awesome exhibit - I really like Alex Coville and was so excited when I learned he was Canadian (somehow that fact had escaped me).

@Mendalla thinking of you tomorrow as you pay your respects to your Dad. I hope the weather holds out for your family.

It's been chilly here in Ottawa. I'm not really sure how it happened but our renovations were moved up so we were scrambling this week to get everything packed, but we did it. It's been a rough week mood-wise but I survived so I'm happy about that. They begin demo work tomorrow at 7:30am. Apparently it will be all over in 3-4 weeks! (Someone cancelled so we got in on that cancellation). We are trying to sell our diningroom furniture (It's Duncan Fyfe from the 40s) but we're not getting many hits so we are now trying to sell separately. I'm trying to pretend that living through the renos will be like camping...but I'm not seeing the appeal! lol

I leave for Germany in two weeks so lots to do!

Just stopping in to see what my friends are up to ... I see life unfolding as expected, and as unexpected ... and that's life isn't it?

We had friend come for dinner last night. We picked a full new menu from a cookbook & made everything - and it was all delicious. It's fun to sometimes step outside the comfort zone & do new stuff - at least I like to try that sometimes.

Tomorrow my brother will have his first chemo treatment for his rapidly advancing prostate cancer. Some of his bloodwork was not optimal, so he will be receiving a reduced dose. He's been on my mind a lot & we speak often on the phone (he's in B.C.). He's in good spirits and hopeful that the chemo will at least slow the aggressive march of this cancer. I'm hoping I can get out to visit before Xmas.

I leave you with this benediction this evening ... I often find myself humming it ...

Thinking of you Carolla, a trip out west might be in order. Lots going on with folks and their families- may you too go now in Peace

Carolla - what a beautiful picture. I love Alex Colville - a Maritime artist. Every brush stroke, every blade of grass, every shadow on the clapboard wall, every hair on the main and tail - perfect. I've tried to copy his style when I did some painting - but to no avail. (I'm more a Group of Seven type). I love Colville's "Boy, Dog and Saint John River" - and also the one of the big horse racing along the railway tracks towards an on-coming train.

Greetings!

Monday morning blahs . . . not feeling good (re: ongoing internal health issues), an ear-ache started last night (a bit better this morning), still seeing quite the little "light show" out of my eye (and a black smudge in the bottom corner), hubby snored all night - woke me up and I didn't get much sleep, and a headache started an hour ago . . .

YET - I have so much to be thankful for . . . my woes are so petty compared to what others are dealing with . . .

Although I have discomfort, my body is working.
Although my hubby's snoring bothers me, my hubby is healthy and laying beside me at night.
Although I have an earache - I can hear well out of both of my ears.
Although I have a headache - I can rest this afternoon.
Although my eye is presenting so many challenges, today I can see out of both of my eyes.

Every night I go to bed, and every morning I wake up, I express gratitude that for one more day my vision was kept safe.

I can walk, talk, see, hear, eat, breathe, and so much more . . . I am blessed.

Carolla, adding your brother to my prayer list . . . what a difficult time for you.

Googled some of his paintings, seeler . . . impressive. I also like the one of the horse running on the tracks toward the train.
