Congrats to you and your family. And March is a great month to be born though can be crowded. When Little M (who is a March baby) was in preschool, they had a "birthday calendar" and March was jam-packed compared to the other months.

Seeler, I think of you often, with your son being overseas . . . I didn't like it when my son was in Montreal - let around the world.

Off to Kitchener tomorrow. It will either be to say goodbye to Dad or to start planning the funeral. The home is saying hours to days based on his current condition. May not know until I get there though hopefully one of my brothers can reach me before I go if the latter.
 
I was thinking the same re Seeler, Beloved. Tough to have children at a distance. Enjoy your day with your son, Tabitha.

I had a bit of white knuckle driving but most of it was fine.
I spent the day in the new workspace, getting furniture, setting up a team room, getting popcorn, finding desks and chairs, just being a scavenger bar none. Lots of fun as folks used their creativity.
I am at the hotel again, after being out for a beer with folks and hearing of another person who is leaving. Truly this is getting tiresome.
 
He's been going downhill for a couple weeks. Developed a bad fever and respiratory problems last week. Was barely conscious on the weekend and now completely unresponsive. He has a DNR and minimal intervention order on his chart so they have just been treating it as palliative anyhow. We were going to meet the doctor tomorrow but at this point, we aren't too concerned about that.
 
So sorry, Mendalla. May peace surround you and your family in the days ahead. May friends and strangers treat you with kindness.
 
Once again, we see the end and beginning, the extremes of life in wondercafe2. Congratulations to CrazyHeart on the announcement of the new great grandbaby.
 
(((((Mendalla and family)))) - loving thoughts go with you as your father's journey winds down. In your situation I would find some comfort in knowing that the health care system won't be repeatedly reviving him.
