I am thnakful it was built.

I offer up the quiet of the room for relaxation, sharing, as you see fit or need.
I offer your favourite food sitting waiting, however you need.
There's the teapot that never cools, and the coffee maker always ready
bottles of ater
a bit of wine
some scatch for those so inclined.

relax, put your feet up

know that you are loved.

I was sad last night. Actually shed a tear. I do that when watching shows.
One of the characters in Coronation Street did soemthing. It was sad.
Yup, pulled at me.

I know it is silly. but. it is.

Not silly at all. If a tv show can bring tears they were there just waiting for a suitable moment to roll out.

I cry every time I rad the posts about Matthew and his care - and the parents who provide it.

I'm in a wyrd place about Coronation Street. I'm sorta generally, agnostically, anti-TV. I have a computer and Netflix and CBC and that has done more than I need, in terms of visual entertainment., for many years. Part of it, was my mother's sorta addiction to TV, of which I faintly, always, "disapproved". She loved C Street. Her family had grown up "just down the road" in Liverpool, and many of us ended up a few miles away in that direction (quite a few fam in Warrington). I have managed to NEVER watch an episode of Coronation Street in my entire life (my Mother and I had a distinctly problematic relationship, even though I was her first live-born and her final home caregiver). So, on behalf of Mom, my condolences, I'm sure.

Hugs to Hilary and Mendalla: two different kinds of grief, but grief nonetheless. I haven't caught up on all the news in this room yet; sorry if I have missed other major life happenings.

We had book club yesterday to discuss the Cellist of Sarajevo ... one of the comments was that films and TV shows have great difficulty getting to the depths of emotional intellect that can be raised from a scripted myth ... if you have the ability to get right into it and explore the gutsy parts ... tis tough for those that choose not to ...

Free will to encounter the feelings of alternate egos ... other's pains? That to me is vast empathy that excess simple pithed matter ... sympathy? One needs to know icons and their phonetics ... a difficulty with the tongues coming out of the Balkans ... the land of pistix Sophia and the Blue Mosque! Propped matter ... as impaled --- Vlad?

Dark stories of the blues continue ...

On another thread some time ago I promised to tel you more about my vacation plans as the time drew nearer. Well, it's time --

Last summer Seelerman and I visited Nova Scotia. A virtual friend invited us to visit her for a night or two. Unfortunately we were unable to wok the visit into our short trip which included Seelergirl and Grandson. Therefore we were delighted to hear from her again this year, inviting us to come this year offering us her home for three weeks while she is away visiting her mother in Germany.
Two weeks from now we start our vacation trip down to the beautiful Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia where we will live in her home, take care of her cat, water her garden - and pick and eat her spring vegetables - while sight-seeing and perhaps doing some research on Seelerman’s Acadian roots.
So WC messages and e-mails have been flying back and forth as Mrs.Anteater and I make final plans. She has been very thoughtful, inquiring if I have any special needs. Fortunately at this point I don’t. She has also let us know what dishes, pots and pans, and appliances she has - toaster, coffee pot, etc. - that we are welcome to use.
We met Mrs.Anteater in real life once. The summer Pilgrim’s Progress visited eastern Canada, and we gathered at a Halifax restaurant. Since then we have continued to follow each other’s posts on WC and WC2 - virtual friends.
We will meet her again the day before she flies out, and she will show us around the house and give final instructions about the cat. We like cats.
Possibly I won’t be posting very often from Nova Scotia, but don’t worry. I’ll be having a good time and will let you know about it when we get back home.

What a great idea for a holiday. I hope you both enjoy your time away.

My aunt and uncle just moved from Ontario to the Annapolis Valley. They are surprised by how bad the ticks are on their property. Beware.

Sounds more affordable than my AirBnB stay! Haha

I am getting everything arranged to go out to Winnipeg. Will be staying in an AirBnB with my sister. I could have gotten a small hotel room at an affordable rate, but the sleeping arrangements she needs so her 2 kids would actually sleep somewhat normally is an very expensive hotel stay. Plus access to a full kitchen with 2 young children is a big help.

We've decided Chemguy will stay. Originally we were planning on going together, looked the flight costs, then there were the concerns of having things taken care around the house, a training course his company paid for a while ago for him to attend this week, etc.

Travel with illness is always more complicated it seems. I typically use West Jet but am going with Air Canada this time. I can't request a cat-free buffer without getting a doctor to fill out a form, so that's not going to happen to this time. I sent an email with a copy of a travel letter so that I may hopefully get a medical bag in addition to my usual stuff. These things are done automatically with West Jet upon request - just show my travel letter at security due to the needles, icepacks, etc, no need for the hoops. $15 insurance policy that will cover my HAE is mostly done, just need to sign off on it.
Not even sure at this point how I will be getting back, I have a one-way flight booked, leaving Saturday.

Sounds great Seeler. I hope you have a delightful summer.

Similarly, I will now share about my vacation - I don't get one.
