Bitter cold and a wind chill of -25 today. Not as bad as some of you experience in the west, but very cold for us. Seelerman and I took a quick run to the Coop to stock up on groceries - and to pick up a puzzle that Santa forgot. I haven't done a puzzle since the puzzle from hell last spring. We're glad to be home safe and warm.
Saw on TV the damage this storm has done to NS - trees down, power off - electricity poles broken and down. Mrs.Anteater, I hope that you and your son and his girl friend are ok.

Ah Yes. My kitty did not like her tuna treats-apparently she is a salmon girl. She has been reluctant to play with her catnip toy. I think that is because I stitched it up from my eldest's shirt. However she did venture in the cat bed last night.. It was used by our previous cat, but I threw it through the washer and now she will use that one.

No power outage where we are, thankfully.
I had the most pleasant boxing day sales experience today ( great advantage living rural). My IPad seemed to be on its last leg, so I found a good deal in the Walmart flyers. Having to be at work at 8, and a freezing - 20 something with windchill wasn't really promising, but I tried my luck. Got there at 10 to 7- they had the entrance doors open and about 15 people waited between the double doors in the warm air. A man came with a handful of coupons, asking if there were people interested in certain items and gave out the coupons( of things he had only a few of in the store), so people would not run or fight over them. A lady next to me remarked, what a difference in politeness it is in Canada as opposed to south of the border.
At seven, they let us in and there was plenty of staff and it took me exactly 2 minutes to go to the department, ask for it, pay and get out again.

I just bought online, too cold to go out.

It be a day suitable for quick walks with dogs, necessary groceries (lemons, milk) and little else. I like the house to get a little cold at night (17.5), but I've been informed that's a little cool on such bitter nights...

18 is about as cold as I like it and during cold periods I do tend to like it warmer than that, but yes, bedroom a bit cooler than the rest of the house is nice.

My heatpump is struggling today with the cold and it is only 18- 19 degrees. I am going to work- and the cat can snuggle up in bed. Might need to add more electric heat later today.

Choc Kahn ... abstract or what's missing is noted as absence ... like with emotional opinions ... thought is out there ... chilling like the gods of the past? Gone or goan ...

Have you shopped on black Friday in the US? I have. Had wonderful experiences. People helping each other. Don't believe the crap you see on TV is the norm

I was at Macy's in Manhattan, the store in Miracle on 34th Street two years ago. That was a neat experience and great spot for people watching.

One should look out for people ... they are conditioned not to see much ... Blind Faith! Naïveté overrides lesser powers ... like thought ... lessor energy or just Dark Energy as laid down cryptically ...

Some will just not peer into IDe ... could be alien intelligence there ... a Black Pearl obscure as a clam ...

Never shopped in US and didn't even know what black Friday was until a few years ago. Thought it would be something in the past, like the crash of the stock market. The name of it does sound like it would involve at least a few injured, maybe some dead.

Must confess that my first assocation was the famous song by Lightfoot, Black Day in July, about the great Chicago Fire.
