Jeopardy question this week: Which state changed its official abbreviation because it was often confused with a Canadian province?

Answer: Nebraska changed its abbreviation from NB to NE due to confusion with New Brunswick.

On wonders if NE should be flattered or NB should be insulted by the confusion.

Sorry to hear of your visa woes pinga. Pain in the you know what for sure.

We arrived home last evening from our Saskatchewan (SK) Sojourn. Heat wave here in ON at the moment - switch from a few days ago when I was wearing hat & gloves & seeing some snow!! Back to work tomorrow .... hoping all my peeps fared well in my absence.

I hope that the trip was enjoyable and interesting overall. Too bad about the smoke though. You have beaten many to the first bit of snow - I haven't seen any yet.

As time goes on will you be able to share some stories and pictures with us?

I've seen a lot of flakey stuff but too hot here for snow and Kohl'r thoughts ... some Maritimes are haughty too ... a cosmological distribution of troubles of everything ... God's tribulation? Goes on ad continuum ... eternally repeated, or just appears that way ... due to hormonal fog!

Sure Kay - once I settle in I could post some photos & stories in a separate thread :-) Might cause a sudden tourist influx to your beautiful province tho!!

Planning a Country Gospel fundraiser, for this weekend. And I'm baking the sweet treats for intermission (by donation). It's for our church camp, which is always needing fundraising in order to function. Hope it goes okay.

So, has anyone here ever had a "root resection"? It's what my dentist (a wonderful old gent who also teaches dentistry at Western) is suggesting as the next step to deal with my flipping messed up tooth. As he explains it, it is basically cutting off and removing the one root that seems to be causing all the problems while leaving the tooth (what's left of it since it's already split and been capped) and other roots in place. 60/40 chance of saving the tooth in his experience. I okay'd him getting an insurance estimate to see if they'll cover it but I kind of like the idea of fixing things without removing the whole tooth.

I've discussed the issue on here (and WC, it's been that long) before but here's the basic story. Basically, I had pain in the tooth over a decade ago. Just before I was to see a specialist dental surgeon about it, it split. The fix was for the surgeon (a root canal expert) to root canal it and then my regular dentist capped it. That was about a decade ago. Last winter, it started hurting again. Saw my present dentist who decided to get the specialist who did the root canal to look at it. The specialist re-did his root canal and my dentist fixed the cap. However, I'm still having occasional tenderness, gum swelling, etc.
