Have never heard of this Mendalla - but interesting proposal. It does rather amaze me what can be done these days - very few folks seem to end up with the dentures that almost everyone in my grandparents age bracket had. I suppose flouride in the water, improvements in care & dental routines etc all contribute.

Ahhh ... am writing to you this evening from the comfort & speed of my new desktop computer! My old one finally gave up just before I went on vacation. So it's nice to be reading on a larger screen again (rather than my little netbook) and working at my much more ergonomic workstation!
So now I'm in the process of getting everything set up again ... dare I say that things seem to be going smoothly so far? Hate to jinx it!!

Haha, I get that.

I am writing from Five Oaks today.
I arrived yesterday to be the weekend host. Opportunity for me to work away at items and provide service of hospitality.
This weekend there are a number of United Church of Canada women who are filling the halls with laughter and community with their weekend away, there is our off-site caterer cooking food for this group, as well as our onsite caterer staff in the kitchen doing other catering work, there will be a group gathered in one of the houses for a celebration of a special birthday, a group in another house who are Elders from further north here for a Water Ceremony which will attract many people from various areas, plus a Korean United church here from a local city.

The place will be full of people learning, celebrating, and walking the land.

Just the way that I like it.

Ooooh, plus, I am the first person sleeping in the new Hosts room. As part of the reduction of usage of rooms for offices, the team has taken the old Executive Directors office and are transforming it into a lovely room for overnight Hosts. I slept wonderfully. (The program directors office was transformed to a bedroom earlier as part of our transition to focusing on reducing overhead/burden.

Made a YouTube video with my daughter the other night. It's just her showing me characters from her favorite video game, and me trying to attach names to them from a list. It was fun to make.

She likes disturbing things.

Did you say "so what" to your daughter, lol.

Note: it only counts if she says "you're awesome". "I'm awesome" is a push.

Haha - 7 plus 1 with a hint...got you 7.5? hmm, she is very generous

I am subsciber for a concert series, mostly classical music. Today was the first one of the season. It was painful to sit through it. Three very talented performers, but their choice of music absolute depressing. And if you thought the second half got to bebetter than the first, you were wrong. No harmonies at all and even the text did not make sense.
Justthought that they have wasted their talent. To prevent myself from nightmares,I had to stop at the grocery store and buy myself a nice tea and some chocolate, which I am enjoying right now.

Mrs. Anteater - sounds like you would have had more fun with chansen & dtr at their guessing game! Tea & chocolate sounds good tho!

Oh, painful concerts, awful...sometimes they just pick the wrong damned thing. Everyone suffers.

I'm quite down tonight; could do with some virtual hugs. I'm feeling a bit directionless, and fighting caregiver role to some extent.

I don't like your feeling down, but, definitely can send a virtual hug, @BetteTheRed
Having friends, loves, family in the situation requiring care, working through relationships and treatments, well, it ain't easy.
Thank-you for caring enough to be there for your person.
Thinking of you tonight.

What I love about this place, the room, is the ability to be absolutely honest. Morally, there are no decisions except the right ones. Personally, there are others.

Virtual hugs (((((Bettethered))))). I wish you weren't in a 'struggling' spot on your journey. You have many online friends sitting with and holding you at this time. Hopefully you can feel our caring.

Sending you some love Bette - hoping today's warn sunshine is a bit restorative for you.

Ooo crazyheart - those big eyes of hers! Beautiful!!

I'm heading out to my garden now - to get a bit a headstart on some fall clean up tasks.

Can't believe next weekend is Thanksgiving! My internal clock and the calendar on the fridge are not in sync these days!!

Next weekend is Thanksgiving, which means my family and I will be participating in our annual Thanksgiving event of working long hours at Yobo's flower store. Please everyone, be kind to those of us who have to work during the Thanksgiving weekend.

Nice to come here after watching the news today. I'm surprised to hear the policeman is back at home already. Hopefully the two still in hospital won't need to stay there for long.

Yes ChemGal - I was thinking of you when watching that Edmonton stuff ... glad to hear the officer is out of hospital - what a horrible thing it must be to see a vehicle speeding toward you like that. Hoping as you do for the others too.

Our Country Gospel Concert was a huge success. The band was amazing...could easily go professional, as they produced one of the nicest sounds I've ever heard. At one point they did an original song that was especially touching. We made $2500 for our church camp. Sweet treats and cold drinks during intermission by donation was a big hit.
