Everthing was closed on Boxing day here in NS. Went for a two hour walk after two days of food and moving little. Tonight nasty weather with 10 cm snow and rain on top of it is supposed to come. Might keep people from doing shopping tomorrow.
I have some quilting to do and a shelf to built.

Had a hard time walking the dog last night...Not sure how it will be this morning. It is SOOOO icy that I just sort of slid along. If she pulled me in one direction, I had no traction to pull her in a different direction. I can only imagine how funny we looked.

*sigh* Relatives have been sick, different things. Chemguy now has the vomiting. I dunno if it's a food thing or a virus, it's not full GI illness. Trip to Calgary has been delayed if not outright cancelled. I feel bad as we didn't see his parents at Thanksgiving as planned either, but he's the one who is making the final calls, not me.

Lots of flu going around our extended family, but, hasn't hit our family. hoping that we weren't there when it was being shared as none of us have got it yet, but...family is still dropping.
Lots & lots of vomiting.

, but sick people don't have much fun. Hugs and sympathy for ruined holiday plans.

Mince tarts, some really nice organic dark roast coffee from BC (North Roast, Columbian Dark), a variety of teas, some candy and other sweets on the sideboard.

Everyone was at least feeling well up to Christmas day besides one person with a cold.
I am kinda worried how bad it might hit me if I get it. I'm still not allowed to eat everything, I would guess stomach acid isn't too great for healing either. Then the HAE issue as well. I feel bad for Chemguy but also annoyed (not with him, just how it happened) that it couldn't have all been contained to just 1 washroom.
He at least doesn't seem all that sick. The worst of it seemed to be for a few hours. He's just tired and taking a long nap. Hopefully on the way to feeling better.

Zach has a nasty cold. It's not fun watching a toddler cough that much. But he isn't skiing yet so it's not like he's missing anything.

Good health here. Spent an hour at local school grounds teaching my hockey billet-from Taiwan how to cross country skate ski. Let's just say it's not as easy as it looks. I figured an lesson here-where there is just enough snow, will make the trip to the ski area-with trail fees-more pleasant. He is a quick learner but has limited winter experiences.

Hopefully he'll be over it soon. I'm surprised at how well my nephew seems to deal with colds. I swear the adults are often sicker than he is from the same thing.

I sympathize ... I've had a terrible cough with this bug, which is unusual for me. Now I think I've pulled a muscle from the coughing spasms - it's painful!! Hope Zach will bounce back quickly & his barking is not keeping all of you awake at night.

I took my student from Bhutan out cross country skiing on borrowed skis - Nordic skiing, a few turns, and just a bit of skate style (not my favourite but it comes in handy occasionally). Around here we mainly ski on ungroomed woodland trails. A few early birds go through in the morning - by noon there are usually two sets of parallel lines to follow. He caught on quickly, being small, slim, and athletic.

I much prefer classic skiing but given that J has such good skating skills I thought skate skiing might be the way to go.

Get well all the people with colds and their families.

Sure been quiet in the Room the last few days.

The world seems quiet, too, with the exception of malls and movie theatres. I saw Fences a few days ago. . . good movie.

I've been popping in every day, keeping the fire going in the fireplace, setting out snacks, and working on the big 1000 piece puzzle set up by the window - but I've also been visiting other threads, wishing people Merry Christmas and Happpy New Year, admiring their trees, seeing how they cope with visiting and family - and getting the turkey cooked when the power goes out - playing a game in Social.
The room is always open. Perhaps it will be busy when things settle down in January.

Still on Holidays until Tues. Took J to hockey game (about 2 levels above his team) He gets in free, I have a complimentary ticket for billeting. I swam first and joined him in 2nd period. 3000 fans there.
