Sgoing to Costco this morning with junior and his girlfriend. Will sew tree christmas stockings later, one for their new apartment, one for my place with her name on and one for the cat. She comes from a home with almost no christmas traditions. She was really eager the other day, baking german cookies with me. A really nice addition to our family.

Waiting for the extra-mural nurse to arrive to change the dressing on my head - but I have her permission to waash my hair before she comes - hurrah, a shower after two weeks of tub baths. And I keep hoping that each visit will be the last.

Afterwards Seelerman and I have a few Christmas stuff to pick up - mainly dollar-store items like gift tags and a gift bag for a wine bottle. Tonight we are going to the bowling Christmas dinner and gift exchange -- suggestion about $10. I'm taking a homemade bottle of wine. This year Seelerman decided to get his own gift to give - a Tim Horton's gift certificate. I'll tuck a bag of homemade nuts and bolts in the gift bag to give it some weight and shape.

Hi Mrs. anteater. My oldest has my second (spousal) costco charge at no extra charge.Just register your son at your address and it works.

Tomorrow, most of my family except daughter's family and son in Saskatoon are

leaving for Mexico. My granddaughter is getting married. They are gone Sunday

to Sunday. Love the fella she is marrying There will be at least 40 of them. They are all excited.

She's marrying 40 different fellas? That oughtta be an interesting marriage. Hope it works out well for them. :D

Yes, I am disappointed that we can't go but the plans were put in place before all the things that have

happened recently.

I went to a doctor yesterday at Chemguy's request. Had him come with me, as the pain kept getting worse and my ability to focus was getting worse plus I had to keep putting ice in my mouth just to cope.
He saw why I had no interest in going right then when I couldn't see my own doctor even though things might be a bit easier to diagnose when it's at it's worst. The doctor was totally disinterested, didn't think HAE was serious, and repeatedly asked about the rash on my face which is some eczema that isn't all that bad and mostly dryness made worse by the weather and having an ice pack on my face the night before. Chemguy pushed for her to at least write a prescription for the pain.
I waited about an hour for the painkillers to do something and saw no difference, although maybe I would have if I just let my pain go to where it's max would have been without ice before and after but I had no desire to do that.
I didn't think anything topical would work well because the inflammation is clearly and issue and I thought it was too deep. Decided to give orajel a try anyway.and yay! Pain went to a low level.

I'm totally confused as to what's wrong. The worst of the issue is always in the same location but sometimes the worst isn't involved when this flares up. At least one tooth ends up sitting higher than it should, but it's not always the same tooth. It's not even always the same quadrant of my mouth.

I'll call my clinic and my dentist office both on Monday. See whoever can see me first and if they figure out the problem, great, will cancel the other. Hopefully one of them can figure this out.

Are you able to watch some of the wedding here?

They could stream it using Periscope or something, I guess though if it is a beach wedding or other outdoor setting, Internet access might be a problem

Congrats to your granddaughter and the lucky groom, @crazyheart . Hope all goes well and they have some good pics and videos to share with you when they get back.

Poor chemgal. How frustrating. sounds like a plan is in place and hurray for oraljel.
Yes! Very glad for that otherwise I think I would have ended up in emergency cuz of the pain although my trust in their treatment there isn't all that high. Also a nasty place in terms of December illnesses!

Seeler? The first time that I saw you refer to the nurse as extra-mural, I thought it was a typo.By now, I get that it is what you call the nurse that comes to your home.

I am curious what others call those staff.

Having worked in that sector for a number of years (while my employer is in Home Oxygen, our parent owned a home care company for the first decade and a bit I had the job and I did their IT support), it's "Home Nurse" for actual nurses (which gets further divided into "Visiting Nurses" who do the sorts of care Seeler is receiving and "Shift Nurses" who stay for regular hospital-type nursing shifts with people in home palliative situations and that sort of thing) and then PSW and HSW for the support workers.

used to call them Homecare nurses, now CCAC nurses (Community Care Access Centre - they are the named 'provider' & contract out to various nursing agencies). Those are the staff who come at no cost to user. There are other private agency nurses (and other staff) who can be privately hired.

The company I worked for did some private duty but it wasn't a big chunk of business IIRC. The CCAC work was our bread and butter.

I just think of it all as home care, when it's a nurse providing the services.
I'm lost as to how one actually qualifies for it though. There was a period of time when I was young where I had to go to the hospital every 4 hours for nebulizer treatment, it took a long time to get a machine at home. I shared the IV issues I had.
