I'm a wuss. Everything is scary to me. I've already got two design projects, plus more in the wings. Have to get a lot of personal stuff sorted out, so I'll be only working on a couple of things for cash flow until I can get started in earnest. Losing my company truck, so I bought a car today. That was nice. I'll certainly be driving enough.

Do your homework on how this works tax wise and stiff CRA at every opp... er ... get all the deductions to which you are entitled.

Congrats and good luck. It is a big step and I suspect you are up to it.(y)

Better that way then going in loose and thinking you see everything the jerks will throw at you ... sentience is so much better than somnolent states ... walking or otherwise.

Sometimes it is so hard to differentiate the mentally dead from those reacting excessively emotionally as if they had room for thoughts!

Always carry a good portion of "ANs" with you ... as that is a concern! It gets complicated very quickly ...

I have some healthy pumpkin waffles for the room as I made a batch this morning. Pop over to last post thread if you want the recipe.

The house beside us has been empty for a few months. I think the former neighbours owned but looks like they are renting it out. I don't expect it will be empty much longer. There are so many questions about available housing. I think vacancy rates in much of the province is about to drop.

Thanks for the waffles, Tabitha.

I am awake way too early this morning, but, ..I fell asleep in the chair last night, and slept well, so all is fair.

Thinking of the complexity of motherhood today, as I think of my friends, and my own mother. Today will be a quiet day for me, hope to get more gardening done. Tomorrow, the boys & I will celebrate mother's day.

ahh Complexity of Mother's day is right.
I celebrated with oldest and youngest yesterday. We went on a 10k hike and they brought the picnic. Lots of good conversation and great views. Youngest is just out from another stay in the psych ward, but his overall trend is better. There is always a piece of my heart that is sad for my estranged middle one.

I didn't expect a lot. One offspring on the other side of the world; the other stressed with her job and family - but

Mother's Day - Seelergirl, Pete, Granddaughter, Grandson all file into my pew at church and we worship together. After service they invite me out to brunch. Granddaughter offers to come with me, and is delighted when I suggest that she drive my car (she came to church with the family). Great meal - I had eggs florentine. Ran into a friend of Seelerboy out with his wife and son, and into a couple from Square Dancing. I proudly introduced my family. It was great. (Seelerman is driving taxi today. He gave me a gift earlier.)

Quiet day here. I have been putting some essential items into the wee camper in preparation for the first trip of the year. Yesterday one son and family took us both out for supper. In the evening one daughter brought over a bunch of the droopiest tulips I have ever seen. One son is away for the weekend - arranged long ago and required the purchase of a suit. Other daughter is busy at an Art/Craft sale. Hubby is making eggs and bacon for lunch and it smells delicious.

We had a nice Mother's Day dim sum that was missing one important thing - the mother. :D As mentioned in Last Post, Mrs. M is in China visiting her family for a couple weeks. Of course, I managed to get sick (bad cold, maybe progressing to a sinus infection though it seems better today so maybe not) right after she left. At least with Little M being 17, it isn't as onerous being a temporary single Dad as it was back when he was little. He even drove to lunch today.

I led the church service at the church I grew up in on Mother's Day. It is also my Mom's church still and my youngest sister's. My son and his girlfriend, and my daughter and her son came too. So, I really enjoyed the family time. At one point I was talking about the love and support of our Christian families (it was Christian Family Sunday), and I mucked up some words....only to look down and see my kids breaking out in the broadest grins, and trying not to laugh. Later I told them: Thanks for the love and support! We all laughed. Later, my other son drove up from Sudbury to spend a few hours with family. Lots more love and laughs. I know I'm one of the lucky ones....

I just got home from my 2nd mother's day night...
First night, the boys & I went out for Chinese food as my husband was working.
Today, my husband and sons helped with various aspects of gardening, then, the boys & I went out to dinner & a movie. Husband had golf.
It was wonderful to have them both home, and able to do things.

We went out for another "Mother's Day" celebration tonight. My middle son and I took my mom out to the local pho restaurant for some delicious soup. Then we met up with Yobo at the local Timmys where we had beverages, and she had a nice chicken noodle soup and green tea. Fun!

Well, off to Newfoundland in the morning.
I have been busy gardening, so hoping that I haven't forgotten anything. Last walkthrough of stuff will be done shortly, then will pack my bag.
We are in St. John's the first few days, so anything that I can't live without, I can buy -- but I think that I am good. (well, need spare batteries for the camera).

Hah, haven't packed long johns....though, I tell you, my suitcase is definitely packed, as we expect temperature variants from 2 - 14 C, and are also doing urban & small town stuff.

Gloves are packed. Will grab a scarf.
