Thanks Tabitha.
Had a lovely lunch with good friends today, now settling into the hotel to relax for a bit and do some research for dinner options.
There is a big outlet mall not far from here, so may get some shopping done with her, too.

The above as well as KOA camping fall in the category of things that my husband preferred that I do with my sister

KOA is good. We used to camp /\ at the KOA in Sault Ste Marie when we visited our son who was attending Sault College. Staying at the campground was less expensive than the local hotels.

Good depends on what you are measuring

It really doesn't fall into the quiet of electricity free zones, canoeing on quiet lakes, large secluded camping spots, trails and wildlife/nature

If I'm not mistaken - some KOAs do offer those things. We were more interested in where we could stay that was inexpensive and close to our son's residence. We do prefer camping in Ontario's provincial parks.

I'd love to try Great Wolf Lodge once.
and KOA is not my first choice of campsite. Actually I prefer back country to car camping any day.

Back country? You can have it Tabitha. That's far too rustic for me. I prefer a nice partially-shaded spot in a provincial park. Preferably close to water, electricity, and comfort station. Digging a hole? No thanks. We've never stayed long at a KOA (two nights has been our longest stay). We stay there chiefly to save money.

Today is a day of laughter and celebration. Today is a day of hugs and congratulations. Today my congregation voted to come out of the closet and declare that we are an Affirming Congregation. Two years of hard work; two years of dotting the 'i's' and crossing the 't's'. Two years to review what has our policy since before I joined the congregation a decade ago. We already had an inclusive marriage policy. We already had members of the GLBT community in leadership roles. We already had a girl with two Dads, and a family with two Moms in our Sunday School.
I remember back when WC first started - I argued with Alex who said that there wasn't an Affirming congregation east of Ottawa. I claimed that we were - all but in name. In my church when we said 'All Are Welcome' we meant it. I was wrong. It's not enough to go through the motions; too often people have been told that 'all are welcome' only to find that it doesn't include them. We have to declare it publically.

And we have.

Hallalujiah! Hurray!! Rainbows!

May God bless you as all continue to journey together.

There will always be exceptional welcomers and always those that will form exceptional deniers ... the denier in the thin fabric between to nodes ...

congrats Seeler - that's a big accomplishment for your congregation! Mine has spoken of it, but I don't think anything is happening.

Here we finally had a nice spring weekend of sunny weather & warmer temps! So I spent much of it in the garden - pruning the roses & hydrangeas, clearing leaves off the garden, fertilizing the lawn, surveying in general ... I did sit a bit & enjoy agood cup of tea in the sunshine too! But I'm pretty sure my muscles will be complaining stiffly tomorrow!! It feels good though to be outside & active again.

I am home! I definitely would have taken advantage of the beautiful weather to do some cleanup; however, was thankful for nice weather for the wedding and for driving. Tomorrow is a busy day to get ready for Washington & my oldestBrother visiting and staying over. It will be good to see him again. I will try to get a bit of yard work done tomorrow before he arrives. This retirement stuff is hard work!

@Seeler , I am thrilled that your congregation is now Affirming. Thankful that it made sense as you processed.

Good weekend here. It's actually uncomfortably hot upstairs. Carrots (that I finally got put in, as was waiting on Chemguy to do the heavy stuff of mixing in compost) sprouted after less than a week. Someone I know will be moving to this area. I haven't had much contact with her for quite a while, looking forward to reconnecting. Multiple houseguests as she was house hunting and came up with some other friends of mine.
