It got up to 30 or so here. It's unseasonably warm. I didn't get to enjoy it. I spent the afternoon at the hospital. I was told to show up at noon. My procedure to remove my port was scheduled for 1:55. The procedure is not a lot different from a dental appointment. The doc gives freezing then the procedure takes about 15 minutes. Still, you have to prepare as if you're having major surgery. I ate at around 10 last night so when I got in to the OR around 4pm I was pretty hungry. I was wobbly-kneed hungry by the time I left around 5. Dinner at Original Joes was most delicious. I have officially been de-ported.
Are you sore now?

Fall is happening here, and I'm just not...I refuse to put the furnace on before Oct 1, but damn, extra socks are necessary.

I feel hobbled and indebted!

No furnace here but a great chance to burn junk wood in the fireplace in the mornings. In the evenings with the incinerator on the back of my lot ... almost like camping out. I have to be careful of coyotes though ... they are getting assertive! They can be a dog mah ... as a'ruel! Hated statutes ...

Went to a hospital outside the Fredericton area for lung capacity testing yesterday ... a continuing follow-up on potential organ damage from PMR ... as the medical people now see I've suffered this for extended time ... and over time it damages all internal organs ... inclusive of the heartlands!

The tests indicate I am acceptable as a fringe statistic ... that's the data they feed me any hows ... alien intellectualism? One has to go some to gather all this ... like picking cloudberries in cool climates!

I’m glad they finally figured it out. I’m sorry you’ve been dealing with it, though.

Such is life, for all we know .... and yet there are those that persist that they know everything ... an experience to observe from the fringe! Demagoguery?

Halve truths ... laid in random order as quantum stuff! Go figure ...

Greetings, all! Coffee cart is running for those who would like something hot to drink. Donuts, muffins and such are here for those who want to sit in the nice comfy chairs and chat.

It IS Friday Northwind! I'm certainly challenged to keep track too. I've been in the kitchen this morning making 'cheesecake in a jar' for a small outdoor picnic style gathering of 10 friends to honour a friend's retirement. It's a surprise for her - should be fun!

I know I've been in and out a lot over the summer and haven't read everything, but...I was wondering, has anyone heard from Seeler? I haven't seen her on here lately.

Good morning. I'm looking forward to a normal morning that includes coffee and breakfast. My port site is a bit sore but that won't interfere with my day. It's on my chest up near me collarbone so not somewhere that gets aggravated.

Happy Friday everyone. (It is Friday right?)
Good to hear, I've heard from some people who it was to the point they had difficulties moving their arm due to the pain - although it was going in, not out.

I've seen that in groups too. There seems to be different types of ports. One seems to get an incision in the neck. I would think that would hurt. Also, the surgeon's skill will probably have an impact. I have an excellent surgeon so that might help.

I know I've been in and out a lot over the summer and haven't read everything, but...I was wondering, has anyone heard from Seeler? I haven't seen her on here lately.

Over the last while, I've noticed that Seeler is more likely to respond to threads with a reaction, like a like, etc., than to post comments. I think she continues to struggle somewhat with her Dragon. She last liked the birthday wishes for the ape on Tuesday.

Thanks for the coffee. It's cold here, but the sun is shining brightly, so perhaps the hound and I will get out for a brisk walk.

And @Seeler, a wave from me, too! We miss you. Our group gets smaller all the time. I'm feeling a similar thing about the congregation of which I'm a member. We have now had four people die without final goodbyes; the last one, my dear friend Charles swears, was of loneliness (but she was also almost 90 and had both dementia and a terminal cancer diagnosis, although she had recently been kinda involuntarily moved to a LTC facility, so, opinions are opinions).

And yeah, this is how the game of telephone goes, where subbing a "from" for a "for" makes a permanent change in the message, lol...

I have to be careful of coyotes though

My granddog (son's critter, Gypsy), is a 2 year old German Shepherd/Collie/Coyote mutt, whom I have never met, but have shipped liver chips to. Mutts can be very interesting as to which traits emerge most strongly. Gypsy is strong, friendly and smart, apparently.
