ChemGal - I'm sorry that you are having so much trouble with your pharmacist. I wonder what your relationship is usually like. Do you always deal with the same pharmacy? How well do you know the pharmacists there? I know that you have a good understanding of your condition and are aware of the treatment, medication (how to take it, what it does, what side-effects might occur). Does your pharmacist also know?
I think of my pharmacist as part of my health care team which consists of my family doctor, my specialist, my pharmacist, and me. I think we all respect each other's knowledge and ability and have a common goal of keeping me as healthy as possible. I deal with the same small pharmacy all the time, trusting them to keep track of all my prescriptions and being aware of any conflicting medicines. I know the three full-time pharmacists by first name (one is my neighbour's daughter whom I've known since she was five years old). If I didn't feel I could trust them, or that they didn't respect me, I think I would look for another pharmacy. They also know my husband, and they would give him my medicine if he asked for it, and visa versa. (He's apt to be checking his lottery tickets while I'm picking up both our prescriptions.)
