I am confused. what surgery are you having? \is it a day surgery\/

Yeah, I'll be having a tooth extracted along with a root canal.

I posted on Monday that I have bone loss because of getting my wisdom teeth out. I also have other infection as well. That's what was causing all that pain last week, along with HAE attacks.

sending positive energy for Wed ChemGal!

CH - LOVE the photos!! Thanks for sharing them - your wee one is so precious.

Thanks. I feel so much better with this surgeon compared to the one who did the wisdom teeth at least. Hopefully the feeling will also correspond to the overall result.

I think it really helps when you feel that your physician/surgeon really understands the underlying condition and its associated risk factors; hoping that it goes well.

I don't know how much she knows about HAE. But she knows enough to listen to me and my hematologist. She's also all for just doing what works for me - like what pain killers I find to be best.
Chemguy will take the day off work and will be there throughout the procedure as well so we can infuse right in the middle of it if necessary. Since I will do it before hopefully it won't be necessary.
I wasn't really keen on being out with the last one - I think that throat tube was a big issue. Good to be the there when swelling is occurring but also can cause swelling. No sedation whatsoever this time.

Not even nitrous? Is that not good for you?
If I really wanted something it would have been discussed more. The surgeon didn't think it was needed and prefers not to use anything. I prefer to be aware of what's going on with my body (while not paying too much attention to the surgery aspect!). I was a bit surprised that she hadn't suggested using anything, many dentists around here will offer it for really simple stuff, even cleanings. I was prepared to ask if it was really necessary though. I'm the only one who can determine attacks at the early stages.

I like nitrous; it's like a really, really successful trance, and I often use it in conjunction with self-hypnosis tracks. Aware but not upset.

Not knowing how I would specifically react to anything though, I would rather just not have anything that could potentially affect my cognition. I don't know all of the surgeon's reasoning - we were both on the same side as to the preference so didn't bother discussing it in more detail.

Good morning world. Wishing you a wonderful day.

Hoping those hurting get some relief.
Hoping those smiling keep smiling
Hoping you stay safe in your journeys

We have lovely snow here. Just enough to be pretty

Hi everyone. I am officially a wimp. I hurt my back on Monday and have been pretty useless all week. Except in the complaining department. I seem to be able to do that really really well. In my journal today, I wrote a list of all the things I DIDN'T do, as I cancelled on a few commitments. ChemGal, Seeler, CrazyHeart and others...You have so much more to be tough about in life, and I (the wimp) am beginning to appreciate what you deal with daily. The spasms are less today, but everytime I sit, or stand, or walk I cringe in fear that one will take over again. I've yelled a few unladylike words also.

What you need, Nancy, IMO, is a Doctor of Chinese Medicine. When I've done something mechanical to myself (usually related to the action of a dog), I head myself straight off to see her.

What a beautiful wood duck. Saw a lot of Canada Geese (quel surprise) down at the local beach this afternoon while out for a long walk with the hound; hopefully, they're grouping to migrate.

Ouch Nancy! Also - congratulations on being a Champion Whiner . Using language that is generally held to be unacceptable is legally permissible for Champion Whiners.
