I once knew a man of the cloth that prepared the alter wine out of grape jelly ... the result?

They chewed it over as eschewed ... gumming it was sufficiently diabolical ... thus go's ... as from the Gump ... a Lo woodland ...

I'm up. The sun is shining. Yesterday we went for a drive and saw swans, geese, mergansers, coots and some unidentified ducks. Also saw the crocuses that have popped up in the front yard.
Today we go looking for wild early flowers. Prairie crocus should be up somewhere.
Just read that bear claws are on the Wonder table this morning. Also realised I have never had one of those, I guess there is a first time for everything!

See any rare boids? Some say ah Voids as they are fey and flighty ... nothing to the item but fluff and fuzz! These may ploister ...

An old word for flying dirt!

I have never had a bear claw pastry either. I assume they taste a lot like a cinnamon bun?

The Toronto Zoo has a kiosk which sells Beaver Tail pastries. They seem to be much the same thing.

Good morning as we start our day in our summer spot. It was very quiet last night. I'm tired. We'll have a busy few days. Dog has a follow-up appointment at the vet this afternoon. She's healing well. She had a little bit of zoomies yesterday which was great to see. She was a happy girl. I had a doctor's appointment yesterday. He had no problem with me moving my treatment on the 9th to the 16th so we can go to Kelowna for ten days. Yay. We reserved on the ferry and got really cheap deals for both trips. It would have been sad to have to give them up. :) It will be nice to get there to visit friends.

If/when I get out there again, I need to hit Kelowna. Been to the coast a couple times but never really the interior save a quick drive across from Alberta one time. I know someone there, too. Our company's old VP moved there when he retired.

The Dow is smoking ... like having a fit of vapors under an unstable old hand at manipulating what wasn't meant to be interfered with my wealthy powers!

First step:
  • Fireball
  • followed by implosion that sometimes creates a mushroom .. albeit clouded!

After there is nothing left and a grand chance to make something from nothing! Novel eh ... perhaps a difficult text that goes over many heads!

So much 've M boss ... no bull ... Satyr? odd bits of Sara chasm in the flaw ... then we were flushed down the drain ... Trump Cards?

Did we ask for it, or just allow it because no reaction to his rage of no senses? People are often numb to this kind of matter ... they say it doesn't matter and then the bother arrives as Anna ...

If truth is not allowed how better to state such aberrations ...

Owners definitely matter. The problem remains that some dogs are bred to be vicious. This breed has a wide variety of temperaments - you can't say all pitbulls are aggressive, but some are and it's not always 100% down to how they are treated.

And who wants to take the chance they weren't raised right when you walk past them anyway.
I tend to think its not an owner thing personally but a breeding thing....they were cross bred for that purpose similar to German shepherds who also bite many people.
It's too hard to know when that instinct will set in or the training from the owner.

My son has a huge German Shepherd. He sure looks scary especially when he smiles. It looks like he is baring his teeth but he is honestly grinning. Cracks me up every time.

I wish the dog that attacked Baela hadn't been a pit. I don't like the look people give when they learn the breed. As if they expect it.

Baela and I went for a walk today. She met her first new dog since the attack today. She was wary. I told her she was okay. When we were coming back, the owner was taking the dog for a walk. I asked if Baela could meet her and explained why. Baela was wary and relaxed after some sniffing and such. The other dog was a lovely German Short-hair Pointer who was a little smaller than B. I told the guy Baela likes to play and would probably be open to play times once she's healed up.

I suspect we'll have to introduce B to other dogs gently like this for a little while. Especially darker colored dogs like the one today.

German Shepherds were originally bred for exactly what their name says, sheep dogs. So no different from border collies or Shelties. They have been used for other purposes, including guard dogs, but that wasn't how they started out. Dobermans are far scarier IMHO since they were bred to be guard dogs from day one but I've known some nice ones. So I would argue that people who choose/raise a breed for its reputation and then use/abuse it to get it to live up to that reputation are probably as much the problem as the breed. Pit bulls may be an odd exception given they were bred, as the name suggests, as fighting dogs.

I only mentioned the German Shepherd because the vet told me that they have the most reported dog bites from them...they are good guard dogs and were used by the military and police work....

My friend who works with kids from difficult families and does home visits said that very frequently she sees pit bulls in homes with drug problems.
My grand dog was an Amstaff. I was very wary when they got him from the shelter, he was about three years old- but he turned out to not to be aware he was a dog. He was a pure couch potato and preferred to sit on people’s lap despite being a medium size dog. My daughter in law used to joke that she thinks he has one gene too many- he was such an innocent soul. He might have had dementia at the end.

Once was staying at a house of a military MP and their MP dog - a huge well trained shepherd. I heard stories of his abilities as we visited.

I went to bed in the spare room with a twin bed. In the middle of the night I heard the bedroom door open.

I looked to see the dog looking at me. I laid very still. Next a paw came up on the bed, then another. Then his body.

I rolled off the other side and slept on the floor.

Turns out the dog liked to sleep on that bed

So, today we were supposed to nip into the Koodo Shop to fix something or other. Two hours later, he's got a brand new iPhone and I'm a bit out of sorts ascertaining when this damn fool job might be finished. (I migrated my last iPhone myself, with just my daughter to switch out the Sim, took a couple of hours...) So I got a cute new android watch (which pairs with my phone just fine) in compensation. I did not ask; he'd already figured out he was going to have to do something to make up for me sitting waiting for him in the car for two hours, although godde knows that two hours of uninterrupted reading, with Tom Allen on the radio, is not awful. Got the electronics and metal recycling gone. My car currently has only one small bag of clothing for a specific person, and I have two bags of textiles in the back hall. Next my bedroom and TOO MANY CLOTHES. And what was it with my obsession for little plug-in fountains? And still, the books...

I am getting there, slowly. August or September for final move in is projection.
