Novel Coronavirus

At this point we don't really know, and things will likely change depending on variants too. Would be very odd for it to be less than 6 months for people with normally functioning immune systems.
I do hope that before 2nd boosters are being done we actually have a better vaccine match for what's circulating.
And that is probably why more people aren't getting the boosters IMO.

Which isn't a great idea if they haven't had COVID. I do understand waiting if had it recently. Best advice there that seems to be shared is discuss with your doctor, as everyone's risks do vary.

If not though, there is a big difference seen in hospitalizations between just primary series and those who also had the booster.
I see it in my family too, sister had the booster, brother in law didn't. Her symptoms fit in the wouldn't bother testing category as they could have easily been due to chronic issues flaring a bit. He is fine, but had symptoms that certainly equated to being sick and was the reason everyone in the family did test. Oldest nephew - didn't even get a positive test, he had his 2nd dose recently so it would have been close to the max level of protection available from 2. Youngest, no vaccines, did test positive. Like most healthy kids though his symptoms were minimal, didn't appear sick.

If you don't care is it an easier Job ... thus the tormenter the pore man ... commanding the port hole ... the powerful just can't get intuit!

Kind of humiliating rite ... knows Shiitism ... a wild field !

Another reason could be vaccine fatigue, with possible more to come.

I am also puzzled why so many citizens are electing not to get boosted. There was a big rush on appointments when they first opened up.

My sister came down with COVID (not a bad case) after two vaccines and a booster. I wonder if she would have gotten much sicker with just the two doses.

But when the fourth dose is available, I'll get it. Feels to me like one of those things that just whisper in my ear, "I've come this far; may as well keep following public health advice."

ICUs are going down here but slowly. Deaths likely contribute - 35 added to the count today (weekend numbers plus added some from earlier). 2 were healthy people in their 30s, vaccination status wasn't mentioned specifically but looking at those numbers appear to be 2 doses or less, not 3. No deaths in that age range for 3 (and I think 4 would be placed there too, as 4 doesn't have a category set up yet).

But what's the timeframe between doses?
That's my issue, I do know AB had reduced it but still there are likely still people caught up with waiting.
In Ontario it is now 3 months between doses. Initially it was six months.

There is also an issue if you have tested positive for Covid. Three months wait no matter when you got the second dose.

There are some strange attitudes that cause interest in the curious about how death rates descend on the unknown! Satyr or asinine metaphor?

Well ... if they preferred to allow sentient matter to escape them ... it went deep ...

Some medical folks' commenting on the Ontario plan. One kind of has questions, the other two support it.

It's certainly better than the plan here. Kid's masking in schools has been dropped. I think in my immediate area it likely burned itself out in schools but other areas may not be the same. Someone posted results of kids choices though - kinders have tended to drop them in older elementary grades it's like 2-3 kids not wearing them of the entire class.

Is what is normal for other folk alien? That aught to raise some paranoia or other things outside ordinary ... thus we fear de NU!

People with compromised immune systems will be at a higher level of risk than they were before. I hope it will spur more research on helping protect them.

As provinces start to withdraw restrictions (and I fully expect that information about case rates will also start to disappear within a month) I felt led to write this for the UCCan communities in our region:

People with compromised immune systems will be at a higher level of risk than they were before. I hope it will spur more research on helping protect them.

I hope so. I'm not holding my breath on that. It has been an experience going through these last two years as a vulnerable person. I do wonder how I would have responded to this without the vulnerabilities.

It would help if the government would at least acknowledge the risk and allow for testing & treatment for the illnesses that lead to compromised immune systems and not just medications and treatments that do it.

Something I missed a few days ago, there's a medical grade plastic shortage. Major impact is blood vials. So only urgent lab tests are being done. Seems like medical care is getting hit from many directions.
