I think that the plastic cover, plus the raised bed, might be probably okay. But I don't know that I'd put the tomatoes or peppers in until the weather gets a bit warmer there.

If it was end of season yes. With the beginning they aren't as hardened off to cold weather, plus the cold can stunt the plants, so wait a bit.

Thanks. The tomatoes I bought are already so tall, the first one is growing tomatoes already. Is this Covid year making me impatient or is it really too cold for end of May?
I remember last year I was too early without a cover and the tomatoes never really recovered from that. I am tired of carrying them in and out every day. I suppose, I have to wait til the end of next week.

Love your garden shelter! You might need to open it up a bit during the day to normalize temps & humidity build-up. If you can, I would wait a bit longer to put the tomatoes out tho. They may survive the colder temps, but apparently it will diminish production of fruit in both tomatoes & peppers.

It depends on weather a bit. Sometimes I end up covering but that's if it was warm and scheduled warm for after and then it gets pretty cool. If knowing it's going to be cool, I prefer to wait.

My problem is that I have to leave early for work, so they would get uncovered for the day when it is still cool. A bit of a reversed sauna effect. Wish I was retired.
