That is good news but inaccurate for males under 30. Healthy makes under 30 probably should not get the vaccine because of the risk of myocarditis.

Might be good if they switched to using pediatric doses. Definitely some additional studies may help. Especially if factoring in long covid, difficulties with being sick at home, etc.

So its good to look back and remember what happened and look forward

That amazing Great Work of US taxpayers paying to help save the world

NIH spent 1.4 Billion developing the tech and Uncle Sam spent 8 billion to Moderna ( which tech was made by US taxpayers) buying doses at a 460% margin

Now Blessed Moderna is charging even more, 4,460% markup

Here is the story.

And their involvement with keeping the Global South unvaccinated and why

Written by the esteemed Corey Doctorow :3 Yes these vaccines and gene therapies and such should be nationalized

Gotta keep the pressure on these folx to DO THE RIGHT THING

Glad to read and see all the grass roots movements to take Moderna to task

For the Greater Good of All

I became completely overwhelmed when trying to understand all the vaccine variations/advanges/disadvantages/spacing.
Today I got my fifth Moderna shot which was a full strength bivalent version. I was also advised to accept a tetanus/whooping cough/measles update. So I did, hoping the health care system knows what it is talking about!

Don't worry
Even those very clued in experts are having difficulty -- I read an article where the reporter was going around to various health experts and the confusion around this kind of thing at this point in the game

Some of them saying that this is a big reason why we are relaxing so much on the emergencies, restrictions, etc?

Like you, I trust my Health Authorities to tell me when to jump...lol

The concept of an expert or authority is just a myth ... given what we deny!
Lol
Not safe
But safe enough
Not safe space
But safe enough space
Like I trust physics enough so that I can walk in relative safety and not have to worry second by second if the ground will break or a proton will decay or the Earth will get hit by a too close GRB etc etc etc

Thus we say in old words trust nothing ... and question the eternal space ... seems reasonable given the extent of what we know f what's out there as an OBI item ... knot? These form in the epistemological insanity! ETs in a flash ... on a heavenly bicycle ... looking for the other big wheel ... 3rd person theme! A plot Oz ...

I've gotten five full doses of the vaccine. My sister and her husband went to Vancouver on the January 21 weekend. They got sick soon after. She has been quite sick for the past week. She did the covid test yesterday to decide whether to go to choir practice. She tested positive. They stopped into visit us on their way home from Vancouver and we didn't get sick. I'm wondering if the five vaccines I got was a factor.

I doubt anyone knows why some people get Covid and others don't. My suspicion is that those who are vaccinated and get it probably would have been sicker without the shots. It has worked that way with people we know anyway. One is battling Long Covid and having a tough time. I listen over the phone.

We were in some fairly crowded settings on the cruise (no masks and distancing was impossible) and came out of it fine. We had our fourth (bivalent) shot in December and I have my flu shot as well. Do I know that's a factor? No. But it seems probable. Same with why I, someone deemed high risk in the early going, ended up with a case of the bug that was basically just a flu.

We will be getting our next shot in March. Our last shots were in September.
Our shots in December were actually almost a year after our third. We could have gone as early as summer but had the bug in July and were getting conflicting data on how soon to get a shot after recovering. December got chosen because we wanted some time for the immunity to build before our cruise.

Is probability an unlikely statistic to some BS? Thus it appears not or just incarnate ... difficult to see ... like nothing appears ...

My grandfather (patriarch) declared love was similar to nothing ... where something went mist ... Freud agreed on the vapours ... essentially ...

on long covid
Last i checked there wasnt a diagnostic test for long covid :(
I hope it is figured out

And goodonya for the phone: I have had a lot of delightful convos over the phone, when I can "see" them in my mind that i find i have my best convos

And on getting it or not: one of the strangest i heard was a fishing crew who couldn't have gotten it because they were out fishing before the pandemic struck and came back after and some of them tested positive lol

panspermia is always on the table lol

Ps. Anyone see the comet? Oops, wrong thread

I haven't heard of an updated plan here to know when I can get another, nothing has really be said about another booster after having had a bivalent one. The earliest I see possibly being eligible is April. If that's the case I may go in May, as there's a wedding in June. Otherwise with the seasonal nature I would be more open to leaving things for the summer as cases do tend to drop.
