Right, they fit into a category where they do not have the maximal mRNA protection from 2 doses and it's over 8 months ago.

Here is AB's healthcare worker criteria:

Health-care workers (starting Nov. 8)​

  • Eligibility: Health-care workers who provide direct patient care and who got a second dose less than 8 weeks after their first dose can get a third dose.
  • When to book: Must wait at least 6 months after second dose.

Getting people 3rd doses at 6 months means getting many who were vaccinated prior to July 1 prior to Jan 1.

As I said, they are their own category. BC is giving out third doses on the schedule as they did first. Health workers are likely getting theirs now.

The website says for health workers to talk to their employers. I looked for more in writing too and didn't see anything. I am going on memory of a briefing

I just checked with a friend who's a nurse here in town. They are getting their third dose six months after their second. Her coworker has received an invitation to get the booster. She is waiting for hers.
 
For the 5 year olds cut off I'm a bit disappointed. With how things were done, including AZ, they were using birth years. Because of how it was approved though, the kids have to have hit their 5th birthday. So my youngest nephew either has to wait until the summer, or until they change the criteria. When they first started talking about approving it for the younger age groups I thought he could possibly be eligible in Jan.
I understand the decision, but it is a good chunk of kids who have longer to wait.
 
AB is moving to general boosters, starting with age groups for now, just for the booking capability aspect.
 
Local good news - 12+ 96% are fully vaccinated. 30% of the 5-11 group have had 1 dose.
We hit the 'red' on the colour gradient for 1st doses on the map. It wasn't possible before like some zones could as more than 20% of the people were not eligible until younger kids were able to get it.

Not so great news, right now over 35% of ICU patients with COVID were fully vaccinated. Hospitalizations overall have dropped though, so it may be those who were unvaccinated and in ICU died or those in ICU could just be people who have chronic conditions and stick in there longer. Would be nice to see in/out data, ie. has the admissions shifted in terms of vaccination rate, or is it most those outgoing that caused the shift? Vaccinations rates are also creeping up so that would alter the numbers of those entering ICU too. Sucks though that people do what they can and still end up extremely sick.
 
A 40 year old man in Germany killed his wife, his two children and himself. He was part of the “Querdenker” and anti vax and conspiracy groups. He left a letter, explaining that he feared consequences as he had made a fake vaccine passport for his wife ( and possible more) and feared to go to jail and “ have his children taken away to be influenced into getting vaccinated. At the time he did that, the only event had been that the wife’s work place had noticed that her proof of vaccination was false and had asked her to come in for a meeting.

Tragic case that shows to me, how these movements a fuelled by people with undiagnosed mental health issues.
 
Does mental health issue come to the forefront when the psyche is disposed of in light of flaming Ire?

This is a video that's going around. It is hard to understand how someone can be ignorant of the rules for proof of vaccine at this point.

Now explain to me which was rational and which was irrational and how the man came to a questionable conclusion to his situation ...

Like a boid lost in a hole ... senseless? Yet some say there was an outside plan we were not cognizant of ... should we have been sharper?

Could we foresee brutal activity if we don't wish to see it coming? Seems dense to me ...

Alas, I'm told I'm not supposed to say critical things ... it bothers the greater powers ... thus critical is lesser and sometimes referred to as lo' thinking ...

Consequence! We don't know any beta ... as second wind ... that' SUR!

Several things that annoyed me about that woman:

i) no mask
ii) no understanding of mall as private property; further, no apparent understanding of AHS rules and how they might affect malls being able to stay open
iii) her abuse of security personnel who were clearly only doing their jobs
iv) her use of "her kids" as an excuse for her own behaviour

Her own video didn't cast her in a better light.

I could not listen to the full videos, it’s just too stupid. I feel bad for the security guards who are likely not getting paid enough to put up with this stupidity.
Her question” what should people do who want to sit there?” is so easily being answered: get the f vaccinated. Or go sit in your car or on the benches the security pointed out. If she hasn’t heard about the regulations by now, maybe she doesn’t follow the right information.
