Germany is getting ready for vaccinations. They are preparing mobile teams to go into nursing homes to vaccinate residents and staff - voluntarily.
My sister, a retired physician, has been asked if she would participate on those teams. We are hoping that it will come around before there is an outbreak in my mother’s nursing home. I am guessing, it has to be well past the second vaccination to be fully protected.

No better for sure ... probably worse being that it is not even pretending to be safe ... the people are demanding a ticket to ride and big pharma is more than willing to oblige ... at this time I think more people are educated enough to be vaccine hesitant ... one can only hope.

Relax ... uncertainty is a large principle! We live in a place that dwells on cracked folk! They search out power and teach us well as we watch their fallacy!

Canada Could Have COVID-19 Vaccine Before Christmas, Justin Trudeau Says

Health Canada is on track to approve the Pfizer vaccine next week.

I don't feel quite happy dancey yet, but it seems to be ready early. Undoubtedly we were told it would be longer to avoid disappointment if it didn't roll out as planned....but it's good.

I can't fault the way this is working, at all. With the whole world competing for vaccines, and no national production capacity (thank you, Brian Mulroney, for privatizing Connaught), we're in line with everyone else. And I like the fact that the PM is not over-riding Health Canada's approval processes. And I like the idea that the army is doing distribution test runs right now, given the wyrdly low temperature the Pfizer must be stored at. And, so far, I like what I hear of the target audiences: seniors, workers in care homes, front line health care/emergency services workers, etc. He was also more precise than sometime; he said, PENDING HEALTH CANADA's approval, i.e., NOT his timeline to make, that the first people should receive their first dose before year end.

Is this ripe for fallacious given the aforesaid definition of fallacious as a system lacking some information/intelligence?

Imagine the reasoning behind great powers wishing to impose lack of knowledge on the peasantry without fallout! Thus the dirt, smear and grits beneath heaven ... a subtle and seminal sign as iconic!

They said doses and you need two. Not enough for health care workers or long term care people. No where close for both

The vaccine is still not going to protect us against everything, and one of those things is transmission. None of the Covid vaccines has proven that capability yet. Even if we get the vaccine we should still be wearing masks, social distancing and washing our hands, etc......

The first, from my understanding though is by the time phase 1 is finished, they will be giving them at LTC, at least based on the plans for here. The first people to be getting them at the delivery centers are healthcare workers most needed in the 2 big cities.

Here, there are preliminary plans. The delivery centers are in Calgary and Edmonton. There are 30 depots total, and 13 with -80C storage.

It's weird though that the second phase is done when the weather gets better and the risk of Covid lessens in the nursing homes.....especially when immunity only last 3 months or we're not sure how long it lasts for all of the vaccines.
Our regular flu shot is given in October to take us through the winter months.

I would be surprised if it only lasts for 3 months. While not fully protected, 1 dose probably does offer some protection too. We had -20s in April last year, so vaccinating those in LTC in Feb, March makes sense IMO. Boosters can be offered later if a need is shown.
Nursing homes are phase 1, not phase 2.
