I know this is inappropriate behaviour, not the impression he wants to make…but you’ve got to admit it’s a little bit bad-ass!:giggle:

Frankly? That stunt killed any chance of me voting Liberal (not that it was likely to happen anyhow). It's the kind of underhanded, negative politics as usual BS that should not be rewarded. And i don't buy the rogue staffers argument. At minimum, the candidate in that riding was probably in on it or at least knew of it.

Was it illegal? Free expression. No to fascism. We can’t legislate total civility everywhere - as in, manners. I don’t expect it in politics, especially today. It’s an emotionally charged election. Worse things have been said between sparring members of the House
It’s just the internet taken to real life - we see memes everyday. The buttons are like memes, but with less traction. It was for that event. Not surprising. There are bigger things to be angry about.

I never said it was illegal. I said it was underhanded BS. And I'll bet that if someone pulled the same stunt on a party you supported, you would be raging on here. You're only accepting it because of who was targeted. But if you accept the use of underhanded tactics by one party or against one party, then you accept it for all. What makes me angry is that tactics likes that are emblematic of a f***ed up, overly partisan system and of how in some ways, we really aren't any better than the Americans when it comes to how we do politics. It's why I vote Green. Voting for any of the big three basically endorses the system at this point because none of them, not even the NDP, is likely to do anything about it as long as it gets them seats.

It was cheeky. I like a bit of spunk. I like protest art. I like young people speaking up for their future. I realize Carney wants to keep it straightforward and dry but I’m concerned with the issues, some he’s not addressing. I’d rather him than PP but he ain’t perfect. And it’s okay with me to embarrass the maple magas in the Conservative Party. That’s all they were aiming for as far as I can tell.

I’m probably strategically voting NDP in my riding.

Anyway, people have been far more creative in the past to raise attention. Think of all the movements in the past that helped change the world - a few buttons and people are irate about it?

I’m sorry I said that. It was my observation and could be wrong..

If someone was promoting hate against a marginalized group protected by the UN or CHRC I’d be irate. I have been. This isn’t that.

Carney not firing Chaing (he stepped down after public outcry) was a bigger error that got swept under the rug pretty fast - but was indicative of what he might tolerate and not stand up to. I was already soured by that. It was much more serious imo - but the story was out and gone within a few days. The buttons thing was a political gag, joke, by some staffers he was most likely unaware of.

The other side (any of those facets) would never do anything of that sort ... as long as the elite aim at causing confusion in the troops ... smelly material will fly!

There's a ditty that defines where we are ... starts: "it was a dark and stormy night ..."

How do we we get clear of this ignorant mess? Only God knows ... they say ... and well, mortals are directed they shouldn't know and they believe such crap!

Is there something sludge 'd up in the learning curve? The real characters in life are something else are they not? I'm so glad to be understood as a no body ... practically clear and invisible as some airs ... Eire they are ... Haggis? Is the plural of that soul; Hagia. a gated thing?

There's myth that says you cannot hide underground ... thus it comes out, the entire thing turns generating polar, round numbers ... electrifying!

The materials that can process unconsciously ... in delinquency! Gobs eh ... but then as natural intellect and knowledge goes out of practice ... what does one expect?

Mullet over and something will come of it ... the Joy of life ... ph*etching answers where there previously was none ... and making it sacred! Thus knowing is diminished and something has to pale ...

I thought it over. You’re right. We don’t need that kind of politics in any party.

Yet politics in all types of conflict resolution remain unresolved because of what ... polarity? The polarity can have a wicked spin ... and yet still unresolved in the situation where people cannot observe an enđuit ... thus the conduit that resembles a Rhode to the sewer of Trumped up proportions ... blast fumy!

That is a smoking essence ...

My area will be voting mostly conservative. Greens and NDP never had a chance. So it’s the choice of bad or worse until they change to proportional election system , I have to go with bad.
Interestingly, today on CBC they interviewed someone involved with polls who said Boomers tend to vote liberal.

They are free to blast out into open spatial organism ... then they retreat when they discover the animaout there!

I have actually had no unsolicited texts this time around. The Ford campaign were terrible for it in the provincial election but this federal election has been remarkably free of them. Some mystery phone calls that I suspect were election-related, though. I don't pick up numbers that I don't recognize. Voicemail exists for a reason and if it is someone who really needs to reach me, they can leave one.
