An offering: Give Thanks This Day

I am grateful for the technology that allowed my kids and I to have a FaceTime thanksgiving meal together. My son baked himself a meat pie, I ordered the Swiss Chalet Thanksgiving meal for my daughter and I, and we facetimed together for an hour or so as we ate and drank and yacked. Very nice.

Yes, quite pedestrian, but it was the old guy's favorite, so it's a default of mine. It's usually fairly predictable, although this year's experience seemed to reinforce his preference for the North End restaurant (my daughter has moved south of an invisible line in town which sends her meals from the "south end" one, the one which my Hippie thought the inferior restaurant - we were there ONCE, as his parents briefly lived around there). Her meal came missing the sauce (which is really the point of the whole thing), and her pie was delivered in small pieces.

But eating and yacking together, even if virtual, was very fun.

I find that Swiss Chalet kind of went downhill. I used to stop there for dinner when I was on the road in the noughties and the chicken just wasn't quite as good, often a bit overcooked and dry. Haven't been in years since my taste in food has really changed. We have bought Swiss Chalet precooked ribs at the grocery store a few times for something quick to throw on the BBQ and those aren't bad, even if we think St. Hubert's is better.

Haven’t eaten there in about 10 yrs. Maybe longer. They’re not as popular out here so they started closing. Not sure where the closest one is or if there is even one here now. Fewer and fewer North American style old school “family restaurant” chains in general, here. ). I’m thankful for Korean fried chicken becoming a popular food instead. It’s really the best chicken ever! There are a few varieties (and spicy levels) but they’re all good. Also for more authentic Mexican taquerias (taco/ burrito) places. My fav comfort foods!

Had lots of traditional turkey with family this past weekend. It’s always good. The food anyway. Not the “traditionally always turkeys” in my family ;) but that was ok this time too.

Portuguese chicken is very popular in Montreal.

Is Portuguese chicken some kind of strange pardoned turkey like some politicians I've met?

Politicians in NB seem to have come to a critical point ... an anti orgasmic event ... gasp? If displaying complexity one can override the effect of simplicity in political power -- Lord Aston on corruption thereof! (not easily understood thus politicians are at disease; possibly sick at sol).

I am thankful for a short walk around the neighbourhood today. The sun smiled through the morning after several days of damp grey cold drizzle. The sky is wrapped in glorious cerulean, azure blue. So lovely you wanted to dive or fly right into it. My eyes feasted on Autumns’ fireworks. The trees blazed in deep crimson, scarlett, brilliant yellow gold, and sizzling vermillion orange. Mums, dahlias and hydrangeas wore rich purple, bronze and magenta. The wind giggled as it blew and tossed leaves like confetti all down the road. What a wonderful gift it is!

Thankful for the rain after 100 or so days of bupkiss (so. Much. Rain. Mountains of it. A pond is forming in my street lol)

Thankful for the relative warmth for my friends here who need it

That I didn't need to drive anywhere today with all of the accidents and that Chemguy had the forethought to book the tire change a week ago and got that done for us today! I imagine the wait time now may take a while.

And again it was the best of time and the worst ... dependnt on which side you were rooting for as a formidable tickler of the power's fantasy ... leading to the alternate side being skewered ...

Is it fallacy to support noble power excessively?

This is matter that is not well known ... like trying to make the top wheels more comfortable in their turning ... false admiration? There are alternate words for such activities ... some not with onus as irrational.

Menial flattery as it irons out as so much corn?

I give thanks to me learning to be less racist towards crows; I am actually starting to notice individual differences. And all it took was carrying around peanuts and feeding them

It has got to the point when we can just be in each other's presence

There was this one tryhard who was trying to swallow a whole peanut at once lol

Most of them seem to peck them apart with their beaks

They are glorious Beings

People may rave about this or just take up their Jim Crow objections to anything dark and mysterious as Bathsheba ... regardless of the talk in Hebrews 13:2 on strange encounters in the dark ... a Kahn of Vorms? In some traditions vorm makes form ... creepy ... statues evolve?
