She is also easily one of the most controversial figures of the early 21st century. Bradley Manning made history as a U.S. soldier in 2010 by leaking hundreds of thousands of classified military documents to WikiLeaks, saying the goal was to unveil the human cost of war. To supporters, Manning was a human rights champion. To authorities, a criminal and an anarchist. In August 2013, Manning was sentenced to 35 years in prison. After the sentencing, Manning grabbed even more sensational headlines by announcing: "I want everyone to know the real me. I am Chelsea Manning. I am a female."

Jenner should learn a thing or two about the 'reality of courage and social responsibility' from Manning ...

Any person that is trans and takes the brave step of coming out is courageous enough to deserve respect.
Caitlyn asked to be judged by her actions from here forward ..... I will wait for that.
 
Agreed. Undef, think about it. What you're saying is that if Person A faces fewer challenges than Person B then Person A is somehow a lesser person.

Chelsea Manning has a story. So does Caitlyn Jenner. You are, externally, judging stories. I don't get the point of that.

All Caitlyn Jenner represents to me is the best example of a bread and circuses distraction story going around right now ... for myself…I could care less. There are already probably more than 100,000,000 stories with some kind of perspective about Jenner ... enough is enough.

You’d think that the media ... had just found out about transgendered people ... has Jenner even had sexual reassignment surgery yet? and if and when he does ... will it be remotely unique? The first successful “sex change” was Lili Elbe in 1930 in Germany? Christine Jorgensen went through with the procedure in Denmark in 1952, and Renne Richards in 1975. Richards previously was a well known tennis pro born Richard Raskind. Banned from playing professionally as a woman by the United States Tennis Association, the New York Supreme Court ruled in her favor in 1977.

My point is that there’s nothing new, or even that interesting, about transsexuals. They’re out there, they’re living their lives and unless you know one personally, you probably won’t even know if you’ve met one or not ...stories about Jenner are pure distraction ... as far as Jenner being a spokesperson or courageous representative for transexuals ... to my mind he has made a big joke of it ... and anyone that is taking him seriously has also lost my attention.

With the “bread and circuses” Kardashian/Jenner mentality of media, and sadly a good portion of the populace that are following it, what is it that we are being distracted from ...
