I got two monarch butterflies at my butterfly bush now for more than a week. Hope they put some eggs on my butterfly weed. How is it in your area of Canada- are monarchs a usual sight or rather rare?

More rare than they used to be. I grow milkweed, which helps a bit.

There isn't much milkweed around me right now. I'll keep an eye out when I'm down in the little conservation area where I sometimes pass through while on walks. But I haven't seen monarchs much, if at all, of late. I've heard there have been issues with habitat destruction in the parts of Mexico where they winter.

I've planted a bunch of milkweed and pearly everlasting; however, we get monarchs currently. They like the coneflowers
