I am becoming old school lately. I just wrote a letter to a friend and former work colleague who moved away a couple years ago, and we run the risk of losing touch. I have her e-mail address but thought I would surprise her with an actual letter. She is a person who would appreciate that effort...I can picture her delight at receiving a letter.
I have a box of handwritten letters sent to me many decades ago - some from my mom, some from my grandmother, my aunt, my summer camp best friends & other 'pen pals'. Its such a delight to pull some out now & then to read what was written in loving penmanship to my teenage self. Seeing the script is as evocative as the actual words. So - good on you Nancy!

We were taught writing at school, italics were stressed.
When reading this thread I realised that I have never known a male with beautiful handwriting. Am I an oddball or is pleasant writing a female trait?

I (male) won the penmanship award in grade three for emulating my female teachers style, but today it more resembles skids mars on an icy hill. You don't constantly use it, you lose it.

I cannot remember the last time I wrote a letter y hand. I type them up and print them these days. My handwriting is rather illegible.

I have a printer, which is not hooked up to my computer. The very odd time I need to print a page of something, I bribe a friend with a working printer. My handwriting is a bit scratchy looking because of the level of arthritis in my fingers but still legible enough because I do use it. I write a couple of long letters a year to my son out west to go in his parcel. And I'm the keeper of the official church roll, so I have regular entries to make and that helps a bit. And I run a weekly discussion group where it's helpful to take notes as the meeting is going to follow up on items, make up questions on the fly, etc.

Would anyone here know how I could contact by phone CRA for address change?
I believe if you just put the new address on your return, it updates their system but that's a very old memory. I haven't moved in 26 years. :giggle:

Here's their contact page. If you scroll maybe halfway, there's instructions for getting help by phone.

As for handwriting, my handwriting has always sucked, probably due to my suckish hand-eye coordination. Now that I have osteoarthritis in my fingers, writing is slow and difficult, too. So I handwrite as little as possible now, reserving for short notes and such.

I have very nice handwriting but my printing is abysmal, always has been. I just find printing is so slow amongst other things.

Say hi to Buddy. Apparently I saw him last year as part of Madame's litter. Madame is a poodle of the total sub variety -- LOVES everyone. We don't know who the father is

Painted flower at our White Bread Grocery Store. Never seen this before. AAND most of these bouquets are scentless! Blasphemy.

Omg, one of my FAV MEATS. Ocean Cockaroach :3

Today was Springy, wet coast overcast and cold rain. Two of our eateries are gone and leaving us soon. That leaves us with two less choices.

Met two Johnson's Landing natives today. Had a fun chat with them. Johnson's Landing is across the lake from us, even smaller and more remote. I was intro'd to an interesting being;

Who spent more than 2 years up a tree to protect it from savage humans

Bless her to bits

Peace and Joy to you all

Gouda way to increase chances of staying away from common plagues: don't touch public surfaces with bare skin. Always put something between your skin and the public surface :3

Good morning! Happy weekend-eve! A quick shout out to those who have good handwriting skills. May you employ them well and often. I hope those of you dealing with colds and other maladies will soon work through it, and recover.
We gather once again around the Coffee Cart, for our conversations, support, and community-building, over hot beverages and baked goodies. Today the Wonderbakery provides us with doughnuts in many varieties to enjoy. The tea water is boiling, the coffee is freshbrewed, and doughnuts are fresh and still warm from the oven. All is ready, everybody is welcome. Come on in and enjoy the company!

Yeah, but it gets hard to do and even bothersome at times. I worry more about it when I am travelling and things like that, less so than when I am just bouncing around my regular day-to-day spaces like work. And there's still the airborne crap that only a mask will stop (and preferably a KN-95 or N95 at that). But if you really want to avoid germs, what he says plus mask plus keep your vaccines up to date.

Good morning. Going to be relatively mild here today, like 6C and sunny. So maybe a walk after work? We shall see. The wintery again on the weekend before another warm spell next week. Lion or lamb? Right now, looks like March is splitting the difference here. Not quite lamb but certainly not lion-like either. Irate goat maybe.

Tuba or not tuBa ... ah? Tu Bah 've is difficult given the surroundings where they are all corrupted to a sense ... suffer it thro' Zoas to learn ... especially alien tongues ... beastly liquor ... Ryne stones ... cowb oies flashing over Phi*lina ... San Antonio Rose? Maybe just tumbleweed ... terre as in the dark ... tars or terse?

Smoking in moderation ...

They are cleaners of the ocean floor ... some of the largest lobsters are found under salmon cages ... forbidden ground for reason they wouldn't want discussed in the Pub ... so many crabs ...

In some linguistics the "g" and "c" are exchangeable ... and in the deeps lobsta' goes for it and can clean up a body in short order ... thus the grab ... higher powers believe they can get away with it ... but it departs them ... porne a graphic lost? Blues song ... after the flash of AEON!

It was quite a time ... then stilled like "Q" that departed myth ... few recall because of being short on some resource ... sometimes lysine ... phytophos?

So much from the aphtha Carrie ... tales from the Jude woods ... be averse ... look for d' Light ... it is limited for reason ... logi? Ci is like Aye 'r ... some say it causes the wind ... other counter ... and thus it blows ... heats ensue all about the dark and mysterious thingy ... the dash appearing ... implications? Seriously ...
