Tried to visit my niece today up near Wingham.
We went to Waterloo first, to hit the Conestoga Mall, then left there to visit her after her work day ended.
Should have been at most another hour drive.

Wow, bad roads.
The snow was blowing constantly across the road from the fields.
Road was ice covered / crusted.
We were going 60km in an 80km zone, and keeping up with traffic.

Been a while since I chose to drive in a situation like that.
We decided to bail, but, I did feel bad.

@Redbaron -- is it bad like that in your neck of the woods?

Closer to home, we only had one small patch that was like that.

"What a shiite exposure" ... life is like that ... for the fecundity ... all beginning on a dark, stormy night ... a horse called desire?

The meta phorid builds in layers ... sometimes know as scuttle flies and thus time sinks ... chance for a bode ... with Xi?

The mysterious "i" ... porely I'D'd as an abstract! Thus dark? Common in redacted articles ...

Good morning, all! Winter seems to be returning in this area. Bit of snow, and colder temps, not bitterly cold, but cold enough. I'm still hoping for an early spring thaw here. Anyway we will deal with it day by day. And this is light, in comparison to what is happening further east, in Canada and the U.S..
We gather once more around the Coffee Cart for our chats, support, and connections, over coffee, tea, and baked goodies. Today the Wonderbakery has made up squares and brownies for our enjoyment. The tea water is boiling, and the coffee has finished its brewing cycle. The squares and brownies are nice and warm for a cold morning. All is ready, everybody is welcome. Come in and join in!

Got up at 6 to snow blow the heavy snow the plough put in front of my driveway. First time the blower just spun its tires and it was very difficult to get anywhere with it. I never needed snow chains ever before, but I wished I had some this morning. Did the neighbour’s, too, then had to go to work. Didn’t realized that the cat had snuck into the laundry room. That ‘s where she was hanging out all day….
I guess you can imagine the smell coming home ( laundry room is tiny). Thankfully, she did her business only on the doormat, so that went into the garbage and after soaking the floor with vinegar, I think I got it resolved.
One time, I was making my bed and the bedding is in a drawer under my bed. Must have left that open for a moment. Didn’t realize I hadn’t seen the cat for a while. Came back several hours later. Thankfully my bedding was stored in plastic bags….

A friend one loaded the dryer up with a load of jeans, then went upstairs.

A few hours later she realized the cat was in the dryer.

Needless to say all jeans went into garbage. Her spouse deserves a medal for the cleanup
One word comes to mind. Reminder: Comedy is tragedy plus time. Move along if easily offended.

It must have been, like, Meowschwitz in there.

Good morning! As we think about dryers and cats as a dangerous combination, let us use great caution in such situations.
The mid-week has arrived. One day closer to springtime! We can make it! We gather again for our time of conversation, support, and community, over tea, coffee and baked goodies. Today the Baker has made lovely croissants, along with delectable spreads and toppings for us to enjoy. The tea water is boiling, and coffee is freshbrewed. The croissants are warm and flaky. All is ready, all are welcome. Come in for a bit and join the conversations!

That was a horrible story about the cat in the dryer. Upsetting to read about on this particular thread & I still have the image in my head.

I was actually surprised that @JayneWonders posted the story here. She always advocates for positive content in the Room.

I haven't had a cat in years but I really like them. So sad to read about.

Dryer was running. Cat was very much dead

@chansen , there were many dark humour jokes. Should have been called bounce.

Like the great joust of the first person to fall from the tree ... the tree said to be corrupt and evil as it contained contemplatives ... immediate shift to 3rd person? They too are out ... like pagan corn?

Then there was the matter of Alice and her cat in a tree ... cathartic? Will it wash ... foul image of a catbird ...

Sometimes known as mockingbird ... especially in the twilight zone ... distractions?

Croissant and cream cheese t go with my morning coffee.. Yum.
It is snowing a bit right now.. I plan to stay home and make a batch of Carrot/Ginger soup. We'll have some for lunch with home made bread and freeze the rest for another day.

I am becoming old school lately. I just wrote a letter to a friend and former work colleague who moved away a couple years ago, and we run the risk of losing touch. I have her e-mail address but thought I would surprise her with an actual letter. She is a person who would appreciate that effort...I can picture her delight at receiving a letter.

Good morning! How is everyone? Cold start to the day, but will warm up later to not-quite-as-cold. I cannot remember the last time I wrote a letter y hand. I type them up and print them these days. My handwriting is rather illegible. Anyway, we gather again today around the Coffee Cart, for conversation, mutual support, solidarity, and camaraderie. We imbibe tea, coffee, and the baked goods provided by the Wonderbaker. This morning we have, courtesy of the Wonderbaker, waffles, with several syrups, toppings, and even whipped cream to top them. The tea water oils, and the coffee is nearly finished brewing. Everything is ready, and all are welcome. Come in and join the fun!

I’m heading out to breakfast soon with a friend so I’ll pass on your goodies @Redbaron but thanks anyway. Handwriting is a lost art isn’t it? I remember trying to make it unique…my uppercase T is a little fancy but still recognizable. I have friends who send cards and notes of thanks….with exquisite handwriting. To me, it is like artwork, and gives a similar thrill.

Imagine bad handwriting when exposing some highly technical information! Something gets lost ...

Thus I took to semi printing my manuscripts to the secretary until the word processer evolved ... my counterparts didn't like their errs being interpreted ... vapors ensued contrary to some psychological theory that essences didn't count ... and then the repository at Sophia ... something to get into? In another tongue that was Nate ... forerunner to Nate's huns ... running on chariots of the items of concern. Dust is noted ... rising clouds ... the body cannot observe such essence in its vocations (internalized)!

May resemble a candle in the wind ... someone put out dah light ... reason? This wea re not aware of for preserving something ...

I think handwriting is now taught in school again....any one know?
