Canadian election and other political stuff

That's what leaders who lack a seat usually do. Find a guaranteed seat and run in it. If Carney had not won Nepean, there's lots of solid Liberal ridings (including mine) he could have gone to.

Hardly the first time a leader has played this game. Is it fair? Not by non-political standards. But it's how things work in Ottawa and I imagine Carney will play ball by calling a byelection quickly. Usually, the PM wants his opposition inside the House. Now, if Poilievre somehow loses this one, he's done like dinner.

The way political moves get around things is how the surrounding collapses in folly ... logical folly or illogical? Anything to beat the populace ... thus the fabric wears ...

If this is abstract would it be blackened and deemed unseen ... falling into a blind psyche form? Forgotten domain perhaps arid ...

Yup. Apparently about 82% voted conservative in that riding.

Aaron James wrote a text on psychopathy that placed somewhere between 80 and 99% of power in that realm ... corrupted by wealth ... really an item of mist mine syndrome ... lost it ... metaphorically gone but will come back at you under the Golden Rule of action <-> reaction ... Newton's Measure!

Happens when things get pressed ... few read into the wrinkles in the system ... wave-forms?

"My husband and I are not impressed" dispatched the Queen ... get the message? It is fey and flighty ... Ephraim of ectoplasm, literary contraction as rendered down to incarnate (appear) as simple? Caution of such things ...

Carney doesn’t come across as one. If he is, he’s hiding it 1000x better than Trump hides his disorder. He seems like a genuinely okay, stable and reasonable person - he presents that way. Let’s hope so. I’m skeptical, but maybr he is part of the unusual 1-20% of those in power, with wealth, who are actually reasonable and not motivated by greed. His financial worth is $6.7M. It’s a lot of money for most of us, but he’s not one of the world’s super-rich. He’s not a billionaire. That said, it’s not so much that I don’t think he can lead; my reservations are about what’s going on in the world that has Canada determining that a party like the NDP isn’t relevant right now - more neoliberal capitalism is what Canada voted for. Also that he feels he needs to beef up the military. Maybe it’s necessary for this moment in time - but is it ever really okay to need more military capability? I’m upset that he needs to put resources into that. So the choices he makes will bolster that worldview and I’m not happy with the neoliberal capitalist worldview and favouring the private sector so much. Neoliberal capitalism as an ideology is set up to be greedy with false promises of benefit to the public with trickle down economic and environmental policy. It still favours the private sector above the public sector. I am not happy about what that could look like - potentially more unaccountable contracted services - or that the NDP lost relevance and the Greens lost one of two seats in the House.

I do worry that Carney will have neoliberal policies. That being said, his behaviours so far give me hope. He looks like the dad next door. Steady, professional, at times funny, sensible. Boosting the military, or at least starting plans for that may be wise at this time considering the threats from the US. I don't think actions from them will be military. It's still wise to be prepared. Apparently he and Smith had a productive discussion. That also gives me hope.

There are likely many reasons for the NDP failure. I'm thinking the way they communicated their message is a significant factor. I've been disappointed in Singh over the past while. I like him and think he's a decent man. He's been kind of wishy washy for awhile, saying he will or won't support the government and not acting on those words. Hopefully the party can regroup and regain their footing in the next while.

I hope someday we get to see a world where we don’t need to be “militarily prepared”. I’m skeptical of the dad image he presents, lulling people into not being critical of any policies when we need to be.

Just accept that he is a human politician and thus condemned to make mistakes by order of the ideals we've encountered ... imperfection personified in characters ... some of them with 16 facets (many of them dark, mysterious)!

A power induced world does not accept humble well, that's nemesis ... and exists elsewhere ... right out of here some declare ... "Lo' Father they know not ..."

Diminished intellect in the light of the flash?

The last thing this country needs is a "Dad", at least the kind of chiding, moralizing father figure people seem to mean by that. We need a competent leader who listens to his advisors and takes informed action. And we need an "Ideal Team Player" as our management philosophy at work calls it. Humble, hungry, and people smart (vs. intelligence smart) with the ability to pull people together to get a job done. That alone provides a contrast to the lunacy to the South of us.

That's essentially what I meant by dad figure. Not the moralizing father. The steadfast leader who is a team player and team builder.

The MOG figures in there to balance out the honor and respect halves ... and have not's ... as the latter always take the brunt of the brutality ... who learns most about dark passion of brutes? Honor and respect? It's scriptural ... buried in that tome somewhere ...

Life is like that ... a tome we are told ... we are locked intu wit ... as a learning expression outside the realms of the great mystery ... the whole thing ...

Have some abstract and you may catch something from the stretch ... imaginary? Of course ... some even say imaginary is like unreal complexity!

Is that enough chaos for ones ... once? English too is like that can make and easterners head spin ...

Well Our Guy is certainly full of skills and talents -- looking at all the prestigious boards and thinktanks and orgs and Banks he has been a part of -- his Canadian Official Opposition really has no chance with that level of experience and skill and access to resources.

Interesting to me is I feel when I see him in much the same way I felt when I saw Preston Manning, like I was seeing a harmless gentle man

I will be interested to see how he handles protecting our Arctic soverignity vs. Denmark...

I love being in the CarNation

It does, in fact. We looked at going there when we were in Copenhagen on our cruise last year but it's kind of far outside the city and we only had a couple days there. The Danish name is Helsingor, by the way, if you want to look it up.
Cool, thankee sai

Lookin at wikipedia

So in our play, I will use that term :3

Playing 2 characters so far, the Captain and a random noble...

It would be soooo neat to see the play at the castle
